The practice of Eastern medicine is complex and unique, as it takes into consideration the various factors that affect an individual's life at any given time.
👉🏼This is why there are numerous “branches”, if you will. In my practice, I use a comprehensive approach to treating my patients, which I refer to as my pillars.
While acupuncture is my primary treatment method, I also prioritize nutrition, exercise, breathing (which is a BIG one), range of motion, and pain management.
To address difficult areas, I incorporate Asian bodywork techniques like cupping and gua sha.✨
Bodywork is very quick and effective at relieving acute muscle pain and improving range of motion. Later in the course, there will be demonstrations of cupping and gua sha.
✨Ultimately, it is often a combination of different factors, including exercise, nutrition, hydration, elimination, sleep, and emotional well-being, that will help individuals achieve harmony in their health.
I see my role in this relationship as a team member, and ask my patients to help me ensure our good work takes effect, by committing to self-care and maintaining balance in other facets of their lives. As I work with my patients through this treatment and education process.👏🏼
