๐Ÿ’™ World Preeclampsia Day โ€“ May 22 ๐Ÿ’™ Today we recognize World Preeclampsia Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness about a condition that affects families everywhere.

Preeclampsia can develop during pregnancy or after delivery, progress quickly, and present with symptoms that are sometimes overlooked or misunderstood. Education and early recognition save lives.

On this day, the Labor & Delivery team at Faith Community Hospital stands with families by sharing knowledge, encouraging advocacy, and reminding every parent to trust their instincts.
If something doesnโ€™t feel right โ€” during pregnancy or postpartum โ€” seek medical care right away.
Awareness leads to action.
Action leads to safer outcomes.

Last week, we had the opportunity to celebrate Hospital Week, and we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU ๐Ÿ’™

Last week was filled with celebrations, smiles, food, fun, and most importantly, appreciation for the incredible team members who care for our communities every single day. From our hospital staff to our clinic teams, we are grateful for the compassion, hard work, and dedication you bring to patients and families across Faith Community Health System.

A special thank you to the businesses and community partners who helped make this week extra special:
๐Ÿฆ Dairy Queen for the free dipped cone coupons
โ˜€๏ธ Solaris Hospice for cooking and serving lunch to our Jacksboro campus
โšพ Positive Country Radio for the Texas Ranger tickets

We are proud to serve this community and thankful for the support shown to our healthcare teams this week and every week. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’™ Postpartum Preeclampsia Awareness ๐Ÿ’™ It is a myth that โ€œdelivery is the cureโ€ for preeclampsia. Preeclampsia can develop after birth, affecting moms up to 6 weeks postpartum โ€” even if blood pressure was normal during pregnancy.

โš ๏ธ Seek care immediately if you experience:
โ€ข Severe or persistent headaches
โ€ข Vision changes
โ€ข Shortness of breath
โ€ข Swelling of the face or hands
โ€ข Upper abdominal pain
โ€ข Nausea or vomiting
โ€ข Sudden weight gain

If something doesnโ€™t feel right, trust your instincts and contact your healthcare provider or return to the hospital. Your health matters โ€” during pregnancy and after delivery.

โ€œEmergency medical services depend on preparation, training and teamwork,โ€ Kelley Hudson, FCHS EMS Director said. โ€œIn rural communities, that teamwork is especially important. Our EMS professionals, hospital team and community partners all play an important role in ensuring patients receive critical care when they need it most. I am extremely proud of this group of dedicated medical professionals.โ€

Faith Community Hospital EMS utilizes ten (10) PRN personnel to cover open shifts on our work schedule. They are certified at various certification levels from EMT-Basics to EMT-Paramedics. These team members are an integral part of our service, and we could not operate a 24-hour a day schedule without them.

A special thank you to Darrel Brummett EMT-P, Stephanie Gulbranson EMT-B, Tom Maahs EMT-B, Caleb Pond EMT-P, and Michaela Boyd EMT-P, Sebastian Vela, AEMT, Quentin Reaves, EMT-Paramedic, Joshua Richards, EMT-Paramedic and Chase Thomas, EMT-Basic for stepping up and covering an enormous amount of hours this past year.
