Sprayed down the stones left to clean in the Thomas/Kinder row today! The orange discoloration is a product of the biological reaction occurring between the moss and lichen on the stone and the D-2 cleaning solution! It will disappear once dry. The clean stones shown here were cleaned between 2021-2023 and are looking great!
Unfortunately, the black stains seen on some stones is from years of tree sap and is permanent.

We have a new sign! This is big news for a historic cemetery like us! 😂

Hi everyone! It’s cemetery cleaning season again! We just ordered a fresh batch of supplies to work on restoring more of our stones.
Here are some photos of the progress over the 2021-2022 seasons. I’ll take updated pictures soon because the stones are looking even brighter now! The cool thing about D/2 Biological Solution is that it keeps working over time, keeping the stones looking bright and clean!

**Never attempt to clean a headstone unless you have thoroughly researched the proper supplies and techniques. I’ve unfortunately witnessed a lot of damaged stones due to improper cleaning in other cemeteries.**

Hi everyone! Welcome to the page for the Gravel Hill Cemetery! We have finally made it into the big world of technology. Follow our page for updates on the restoration and management of the cemetery, along with short stories and biographies of some of our “citizens”.
Our first post is an article from June 1982 that details the efforts of Bessie Thomas and Mrs. Truman Miller to rehabilitate the cemetery in 1960!
I know my great-great Grandma Thomas would be proud of our efforts to keep the cemetery in tip-top shape!
