April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The Regional Child Advocacy Center has the following suggestions for recognizing and participating in Child Abuse Prevention events.

🔹April 3, 2026- Plant Pinwheels for Prevention
Help plant 188 pinwheels in front of the Washington County Courthouse at 3PM on April 3rd. Each pinwheel represents a child served by the Regional Child Advocacy Center in 2025. Pinwheels are the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention Month as they represent the happy, healthy, carefree childhoods all children deserve.

🔹April 8, 2026- Go Blue Day for Child Abuse Prevention Month
Participate in "Go Blue Day," by wearing blue to spread awareness about the importance of child abuse prevention, show support for victims, and encourage conversations on how we all can contribute to a safer environment for children.

🔹April 26, 2026- Blue Sunday Day of Prayer
The RCAC requests all churches to take time during their service on April 26th, to pray for victims of child abuse, their families, and the professionals who help them.
