25 Years of Research — Week 8

As we continue our 25-year journey of innovation, The Rane Center remains dedicated to evolving our understanding of venous physiology to improve patient outcomes.

This week, we are highlighting research regarding Calf Pump Failure (CPF) in patients with chronic obstructive venous disease. Our findings reveal that CPF is not limited only to limbs with reflux; it occurs frequently in non-refluxive limbs as well. By identifying this, we can move beyond treating just reflux and instead investigate specific underlying causes to develop more targeted, effective treatment plans.

25 Years of Research — Week 7

As we continue celebrating 25 years of innovation, The Rane Center is highlighting research focused on improving outcomes in complex venous disease.

This study examined the role of complex decongestive therapy in CEAP C3 patients with phlebolymphedema, demonstrating that it should be considered the first line of treatment, with stenting reserved for those who continue to experience severe symptoms.

This study examined optimal stent sizing in iliac vein interventions, demonstrating that objective measurements such as IVUS-determined inflow area and flow-based minimal luminal areas lead to improved stent patency and reduced reintervention rates.
