Meet Mrs. Savanna!

When asked what her favorite area of practice is, she said,

“One of my favorite areas of treatment in the pediatric setting is working with children with feeding/swallowing difficulties and neurological disorders. Whether it’s helping a child safely eat and enjoy mealtimes, supporting oral motor development, or improving communication and cognitive skills related to conditions such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, or other neurological diagnoses — every milestone is worth celebrating.”

Meet the Speechie Girls Part 2

🗣️Meet Mrs. Kayla🗣️

When asked what her favorite area of practice was, she said,

“My favorite areas to treat as a speech-language pathologist are early language intervention and infant feeding because they allow me to support meaningful communication and feeding skills from the very beginning. I love helping children find their voice for the first time — whether through speech, play, gestures, or AAC — while empowering families to build connection and communication into everyday routines. In feeding therapy, I am passionate about easing caregiver anxiety and creating positive, supportive experiences for both infants and families.

The first word, gesture, interaction, or successful feeding for a new parent may seem small to others, but for a family waiting to connect with their child, it can mean everything. It is an incredible privilege to be a small part of that journey.”

Since May is National Speech/Language and Hearing month, we want to take time to highlight our amazing speech team!

🗣️Meet Grace 🗣️

When asked what her favorite area of practice was, She said,

“My favorite treatment area is by far working with our clients who use various types of AAC. Whether it be communication boards and books, high tech devices, or even eye gaze tracking, helping provide a mode of communication makes me so excited. I have seen so much progress made both verbally and socially with clients from using AAC. By giving children access to various modes of communication, we provide them not only a means of communication, but the ability to form relationships, make jokes, and advocate for themselves. Nothing makes me smile more than seeing a child’s face light up when they realize they have to power to communicate!”

“Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable.”

⭐️Meet the OTs part 3⭐️

Meet Mrs. Jenna!

When asked why she loves being an OT, she said:

“I love every thing about occupational therapy. I love that every kid is different, I love that I can be creative, I love the relationship that I get to build with my kids and their families. (I’m still cheering for ALL of my graduates and their families from afar 🫶) I love to see trust build, new skills emerge, and the joy and confidence that meeting personalized goals builds. Being an OT is one of my greatest joys! There’s never been a day that I wanted to be anything else! 💕”

⭐️Meet the OTs part 2⭐️

Meet Miss Caroline & Winnie 🐶! An absolute ray of sunshine!

When asked her favorite thing about being an OT,
She said:

“Why do I love Occupational Therapy? My days are full of giggles, glitter, and turning “no way” into “watch me!” in the most creative ways possible. I get to build obstacle courses, get messy with crafts, and celebrate the tiniest wins that are actually the biggest milestones. It is a blessing to help small hands learn big skills and be able to witness the quiet growth that happens over time. I get to walk alongside kids and their families during some really challenging and important moments. Being a pediatric OT at the Clubhouse fills my heart in the most special way.”

⭐️Meet the OTs! ⭐️

Meet our school based OT, Mrs. Ada!

When asked what her favorite thing about being an OT is she said,

“I love being an OT because I get to work with individuals across the lifespan and have the unique opportunity to truly get to know each person—what matters most to them and what makes them who they are! At the Clubhouse and in the schools, I get to help kids build confidence, develop and strengthen their skills, and take on challenges that once felt so big. I love celebrating those “I did it!” moments and seeing their faces light up when they reach a goal. I’m so grateful for this profession and what I get to do every day. Out of all my roles and “occupations,” OT is definitely one of my favorites.”

It’s OT month and our OTs want to highlight persistent reflex integration!

Today’s reflex is the ATNR!

A retained ATNR can cause
🔴 Poor handwriting
🔴 Left and Right confusion
🔴 Letter reversals
🔴 Frequent hand dominance changes

So what does that look like?! And what does OT do to help integrate that?!

Take a look at a few of our sweet kids being tested for their ATNR and then a fun activity to address a retained ATNR!
