⚡Do you ever catch yourself slouching mid-day or rubbing your neck after working at your desk? Poor posture and back pain are more common than you think—and they're not just inconvenient; they can affect your energy, focus, and even your mood. The good news? You can take simple steps at home to start feeling better fast!
In this tip of the week, we are sharing the top 5 exercises you can try today to support a healthier spine and reduce nagging aches (no equipment needed!).
Top 5 Exercises for Better Posture & Less Back Pain
✔️Chin Tucks: Sit or stand tall. Gently draw your chin straight back (like making a “double chin”), holding for a slow count of 5. Repeat 10 times. This helps relieve tension at the base of your skull and keeps your head in a healthy, neutral position.
✔️Wall Angels: Stand against a wall with your feet a few inches away. Press your lower back flat. Raise arms overhead like making a snow angel, sliding up and down along the wall. Repeat 10 times. Great for opening chest and shoulders.
✔️Shoulder Blade Squeezes: Squeeze your shoulder blades together and down, holding for 5 seconds, then release. Try for 10–15 reps. This move re-activates neglected upper back muscles.
✔️Pelvic Tilts: Lie on your back with knees bent, feet flat. Flatten your lower back into the floor, then gently arch away, rocking your pelvis. Alternate slowly for 10–15 reps to ease stiffness in your mid-lower back.
✔️Couch Stretch: Kneel with one knee on a pad, other foot flat in front. Tuck your tailbone slightly and gently push your hips forward. Hold for 30 seconds per side. This stretches tight hip flexors that contribute to back pain (especially if you sit a lot!).
Why these work: These simple exercises activate and stretch the muscles that support your spine and hips, counteracting the effects of slouching and screen time. Used regularly, they can help you move easier and reduce those nagging aches that hold you back.
