Victoria has spent the last eight years growing up with this team by her side.

Through two major surgeries and every step in between, she has shown strength, trust and resilience in ways that are hard to put into words.

Her grandmother shared how much this team has meant to their family. She spoke about the care, the support and the relationships that were built along the way, even saying they feel like family.

Now Victoria is celebrating an early graduation! It is such a huge milestone and just the beginning of what is ahead for her.

Victoria, we are so proud of you! We are cheering you on and cannot wait to see all that you do next.🌈💙

Pediatricians see everything.

The “is this normal?” questions
The growth checks
The little things that turn into bigger conversations

So when they say, “We’ve got the team for this,” it means something.

We’re proud to be the place pediatricians across Mississippi trust for specialized care, thoughtful plans and real support for families.🌈💙

Clinic days and waiting rooms can sometimes feel a little boring…but Willow makes the most of it! 😄

While our team gets ready for each visit, our patients make sure there’s never a dull moment. 🎈

Reconstructive care often happens step by step. Each stage helps build toward the next.

For Eric, who lost his lower arm in a workplace accident, this means a series of procedures to help prepare his arm for a prosthetic. After the initial surgery and skin graft, the team is now using tissue expansion to slowly stretch the skin and create healthy coverage for the future prosthesis.

It is a careful process, but one designed to give patients the strongest possible foundation for the next chapter of their recovery.🌈

Sometimes it’s Jackson.
Sometimes it’s the Gulf Coast or the land of the blue suede shoes.
But one thing is certain. We are always wherever Mississippi kids need care.

Our team travels across the state working alongside pediatricians and local healthcare providers to bring specialized craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery care closer to home. By partnering with clinics throughout Mississippi we help families access expert evaluations, follow up care and coordinated treatment without always having to travel far from their community.🌈

Things you can do while scrubbing in for surgery.

Think about a lot of things.
Remember a few random ones.
Forget why you walked in the room in the first place.

Good thing the scrub routine never forgets.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where the bones of a baby’s skull fuse too early. This can affect head shape and how the brain grows during infancy.

Finding it early and treating it early helps lead to the best outcomes. Our ACPA approved craniofacial team focuses on advanced and minimally invasive techniques to care for our patients. Using the latest innovations, we help children grow and thrive, one patient at a time, right here in Mississippi.

When you’re scared AI’s going to replace your job…

We asked ChatGPT to explain the steps of a cleft lip surgery. Then Dr. Hoppe wrote his own version without seeing what the AI said. Both explanations were shared with doctors and medical students, and no one knew who wrote which one.

Here’s what we found. People who are still learning medicine liked the AI version because it was clear and easy to follow. More experienced surgeons noticed small mistakes and preferred the real surgeon’s explanation for actually doing the surgery.

The lesson? AI can be a great tool for learning. But when it comes to surgery, training, experience, and careful hands still matter most.🥼
