Meet Gabby and Allie: two very important members of the team. šŸ¾šŸ’™

For kids facing surgeries, appointments, or long hospital days, therapy dogs can bring comfort, distraction and a sense of calm when it’s needed most.

Sometimes healing looks like medicine… and sometimes it looks like a wagging tail.

Everyone say ā€œHIā€ to Bella!

16-month-old Bella was born with a cleft lip and palate and underwent nasoalveolar molding (NAM) to help prepare for her lip and palate repair surgeries. Since then, she’s continued to thrive! Growing into a happy, joyful little girl who keeps everyone around her smiling.

We’re so proud of Bella and everything she’s accomplished already! šŸ’™

You just got news no parent is ever prepared for — and you don’t have to face it alone.

The craniofacial team at Children’s of Mississippi is here from the very first conversation. Dr. Hoppe and our specialists are experienced in caring for children with every type of condition, like Pfeiffer syndrome, right here in Mississippi.

Your child is in the right hands. šŸ’™šŸŒˆ

The Le Fort classification system helped change the way surgeons understand and treat complex facial and craniofacial differences. By identifying predictable patterns in the bones of the midface, it gave surgeons a roadmap that continues to influence modern craniofacial surgery today.

Advancements in pediatric craniofacial care are built on decades of innovation, education, and specialized surgical planning, all with the goal of improving both function and quality of life for children.

At Children’s of Mississippi, our cleft and craniofacial team is proud to continue that work through specialized, compassionate care for children and families across the state!šŸŒˆšŸ’™

As Nurses Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that nursing is so much more than a job title. It’s patience in the hard moments, comfort in the scary ones, and compassion that never clocks out.

To every nurse who shows up for our patients and families day after day, thank you. Thank you for the care, strength and heart you bring to this incredibly important work.šŸ«¶šŸŒˆšŸ’™

Pfeiffer syndrome was first recognized in 1964 by a physician named Rudolf Pfeiffer, who noticed a pattern in the way certain children’s skulls, hands and feet developed.

Today, advances in craniofacial surgery, imaging and multidisciplinary care have helped improve outcomes and support children with Pfeiffer syndrome from infancy through adulthood!

Our team at Children’s of Mississippi is proud to be part of that journey for so many families.šŸŒˆšŸ’™

Watching Drs. Fernstrum, Lebhar and Brown move on to their next chapters is equal parts proud parent moment and ā€œwho approved this??ā€šŸ„¹

We have no doubt they’re going to do incredible things wherever they land next!

Once part of the team, always part of the team. Even if they didn’t choose pediatric plastic surgery.🤪

In honor of National Nurse’s Day, meet Mercedes!

Mercedes is one of the dedicated nurses behind the scenes at Children’s of Mississippi Plastic Surgery—supporting patients and families through every step of their care. From clinic visits to surgical journeys, she plays a crucial role in creating a space that feels both knowledgeable and compassionate.

Nursing in pediatric plastic surgery goes far beyond the clinical role. It's about trust and showing up for families during moments that matter most.

We’re so thankful for Mercedes and the heart she brings to her work each day, and for our entire nursing staff, whose dedication, patience and care never go unnoticed! šŸ¤
