Shakena Bowie, our Manager of Volunteer Services has launched our flower ministry which we affectionately call “Serenity Stems.” Kind donors in our community donate flowers to us for us to share with our patients, their families, our staff, our volunteers, and the bereaved of those who we’ve cared for. Our wonderful volunteers and staff make all of the deliveries!

The gift of hospice is our multidisciplinary approach to care. We work hard to anticipate your needs and be right where you need us to be. The hospice team becomes like family, and it is such a privilege to be there for everyone who trusts us with their care. Here we have every member of our interdisciplinary group mentioned. Our Doctors, Nurses, CNAs, Social Worker, Chaplain, Volunteers, Office Staff, all pieces of the intricate puzzle put together for hospice care.

Today we celebrate World Patient Safety Day. World Patient Safety Day takes place annually on September 17 to raise awareness and drive worldwide intervention for the safety of patients. The observance inspires countries across the globe to prioritize patient safety in the healthcare system. The most basic definition of patient safety is putting an end to avoidable errors and negative practices suffered by patients within healthcare settings. At Heart of Hospice, we are committed to patient safety.
