Exciting news, pharmacy family! 🎊

If you or someone you love has experienced hearing loss - or you’re simply curious about over‑the‑counter hearing aids - mark your calendars for Thursday, April 16th because Mac’s Drugs is hosting “Hearing Screening Day” from 10 am to 2 pm! 🎉

On World Hearing Day, we shared that we were working toward bringing more accessible hearing care to our community. Next Thursday, we’re making that promise real! 🥳

As part of The University of Alabama’s “Accessible Hearing Healthcare” study, we’ll be offering:

📉 FREE hearing screenings

🦻The possibility of receiving OTC hearing aids at NO COST to you

🫧 A complimentary cleaning & maintenance kit

💳 A $40 gift card for participating in the study

Screenings will be available anytime during, 10 AM to 2 PM - provided in order of arrival✨

Here’s what to expect when you come in:

1. Consent + Quick Survey 📋

This confirms your interest and helps us understand how helpful the screening and hearing aids are for you.

2. Your Hearing Screening 📉

One of our trusted Mac’s Drugs pharmacy technicians - the familiar faces you know - will guide your screening. The screening itself should take around 15–20 minutes.

3. If You’re Eligible 🦻✨

You’ll receive your own pair of OTC hearing aids completely free, along with a maintenance kit. Our technicians will walk you through how to use and care for them so you feel confident before heading home.

4. Four‑Week Follow‑Up 💬

There will be a check in with a short survey four weeks after your screening to see how things are going and make sure you’re satisfied with your experience! 😁

Today is April Fools’… and we’re full of Sister Store Shenanigans! 🤪🎉

So here’s the deal: Little Drugs of Demopolis tried on our logo for April Fools’… and we couldn’t just sit back and let them have all the fun 😉

So Mac’s decided to go ahead and “borrow” their logo for the day (we’re sure they don’t mind).

Now Little Drug Company is trying to copy them, and suddenly all three of us are playing dress‑up with each other’s logos 😂

But don’t worry, it’ll be back to normal tomorrow - and we’ve got the same Mac’s team and the same quality service. 💙💚

Happy World Hearing Day, Jackson!✨

World Hearing Day was established to bring about awareness and support for hearing loss in our communities – and Mac’s Drugs is proud to announce today that we are working on growing our services to help better serve our community, especially those who experience hearing loss!

Two of Mac’s Drugs’ pharmacy technicians – Alise and Macy (pictured below) - have enrolled in a course being conducted by the University of Alabama, that allows pharmacy technicians to gain a better understanding of hearing aids and causes of hearing loss. This course will also familiarize them with equipment used to measure the severity of hearing loss and instruct them on the best candidates for over-the-counter hearing aids. 🦻✨

We are working with the board members of this study to help bring more accessible hearing-care to small communities like ours, so that no degree of hearing loss, however small, is left untreated and no neighbor is left unseen! Keep an ear out, Jackson – we hope to offer over-the-counter hearing aids, and other hearing-care services, very soon! 💚💙
