Hepatitis B is a virus that can damage the liver and lead to lifelong health problems. Newborns need the hepatitis B vaccine soon after birth because they might be unknowingly exposed to the virus during labor or shortly after coming home. Around 90% of babies infected at birth will go on to develop chronic hepatitis B. The hepatitis B vaccine is over 95% effective at preventing hepatitis B in children and adults. 📢 MSDH WIC Program Update
Starting September 1, 2025, the Mississippi WIC Program will transition from Enfamil to Similac for standard infant formulas.

What’s changing:
• Enfamil Infant → Similac Advance
• Enfamil Gentlease → Similac Sensitive
• Enfamil AR → Similac Total Comfort
• Enfamil Reguline → Similac Total Comfort
• Enfamil Simply Plant Based (Prosobee) → Similac Soy Isomil

👉 This change does not affect medical formulas.
👉 Benefits issued for Enfamil in August 2025 can still be used until they expire in September.
