Hands-on learning in action at our Murphy St. location.

Our preschoolers are using tweezers to sort colored bear counters into matching cups. It looks simple, but it’s doing a lot. They’re strengthening the small muscles in their hands for writing, building hand-eye coordination, practicing color recognition, and learning how to sort and categorize

Just as important, they’re staying focused and working through the activity on their own

Join Jackson READS! on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Ella Sharp Park as part of Jackson County Museum Day for a high-energy, joy-filled celebration of reading, imagination, and family fun.

Kids (birth through 8th grade) can receive FREE books, meet authors, and take part in hands-on activities throughout the day. Plus, enjoy free admission to the museum and explore other participating locations across Jackson County.

Mrs. Heaven & Ms. Jessica’s Class set a goal and crushed it.

Throughout March, they welcomed guest readers and spent extra time with their daily read alouds. Each book helped fill in their poster one space at a time.

To celebrate reaching their goal, the class earned an ice cream party.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗜𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀!? ☕️🎨

A big shoutout to D&X Coffee in downtown Jackson for partnering with our centers in such a fun and creative way!

They dropped off coffee sleeves for our kids to decorate, and the class had an absolute blast designing their own creations. From colorful patterns to one-of-a-kind artwork, every sleeve tells a story.

Even better… those sleeves are heading back this week and will be used on real coffees for the community to enjoy!

Be sure to stop by D&X, grab a cup, and you just might get a sleeve designed by one of our amazing young artists 💛
