What’s the difference between traction and decompression? 🤔
They’re both designed to relieve pressure in the spine — but they work in slightly different ways, and we use both in our office depending on what your body needs.
➡️ Traction uses gentle, steady stretching to reduce tension and improve mobility. It’s great for muscle tightness, mild disc issues, and general spinal alignment.
🌿 Decompression, on the other hand, uses a computer-guided system that cycles between stretch and release. This helps create space between the vertebrae, allowing nutrients and fluids to flow back into the discs — promoting deeper healing for herniations or nerve compression.
Both approaches have their place — the key is matching the right therapy to the right patient. 💪
At Jackson Healing Arts, we tailor your care plan so you get the most effective (and comfortable) results possible.
