Have you heard of buprenorphine?

Buprenorphine is a medication approved to treat opioid use disorder. It helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, making it easier for people to begin and continue treatment.

It can be prescribed in a doctor’s office and is one of several evidence-based treatment options available in Mississippi.

In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, our dynamic guest speaker will shed light on this critical issue and its significant impact within our state. This will be an engaging and informative Lunch & Learn, offering both education and meaningful dialogue.

📢 Mississippi is taking action to address the opioid crisis.

The Mississippi Opioid Settlement Fund Advisory Council has recommended how lawmakers could invest more than $100 million in settlement funds to strengthen prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts across our state.

Proposed investments include:
- Expanding residential treatment for individuals involved in the criminal justice system
- Increasing access to naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses
- Providing mental health support services
- Supporting faith-based and community recovery programs

These recommendations focus on saving lives, strengthening recovery pathways, and supporting healthier communities across Mississippi.
