Local Students are banding together to form their own Winter Weather clothing drive. Sequoia Grove Honors Society members are asking the community’s help in gathering socks, scarves, and beanies for service men and women and displaced community members. With a goal of 2000 items, the students have set up donation locations throughout Amador County and are seeking additional dropoff box locations at area businesses, in addition to item donations. Donations are currently accepted at Generation Life Church Sutter Creek, and in Jackson at The Metal Zoo, Novus Jiujitsu, Divine Properties and RE/MAX Gold, all during regular business hours. This is the second year for their drive and are hoping to at least double their efforts over last year where they received over 600 items by the hands of two students. This year, Amador County’s contingent is made up of Isabella, Isaiah, Madison, Keegan, and Caden. For more information, contact Elena Martinez at 916-549-9234.
