Too often I see patients with heartburn being told to use meds to decrease their stomach acid, or increase the meds they are already taking because their current dose no longer helps. Most of the time this is just the opposite of what really needs to happen. When you decrease your stomach acid you can't absorb minerals and other key nutrients and are setting yourself up for bigger problems down the road. Disease is not a lack of medication its your body's way of saying its missing something its needs to work properly.
