Our Story

Dermatology & Skin Cancer Consultants was founded by Dr. Dafnis Carranza, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery in the Fall of 2011.

Dr. Carranza was recruited from UCLA in Los Angeles, California to West Tennessee in 2007 for her outstanding melanoma research and experience and training in Mohs surgery because there is a great need for skin cancer treatment in our area.

The mission of Dermatology & Skin Cancer Consultants is to provide superior patient care that incorporates solid medical principles in all dermatology services including general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Our practice is the first in Jackson to offer and specialize in Mohs micrographic surgery-a precise surgical technique used to treat and remove skin cancer.

With 33 years experience combined, our providers have the knowledge, training, and experience to treat all conditions of the hair, skin, and nails of patients of all ages
