“When Trauma Speaks: The Culture Responds” New modules and bundles of professional training available to support school cultures know how to respond to students’s trauma. Every classroom can be a safe place and a student centered environment.

Trauma looks like unwanted, unacceptable behavior, punishment, suspensions, detentions are temporary solutions. Today’s professional learning was “Handle Me With Care”. The highlights: Pain is a universal language for our students. Anger, outbursts, disrespect, depression, insubordination are all languages of trauma. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and relatable that you too have experienced pain. Empathy verse sympathy builds an irreversible relationship that creates a path for teachers to reach students.
