Daniel Garrett Hawse, 39, of Jackson, KY passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. Daniel was born November 3, 1985 in Lexington, KY.

Daniel worked for the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation. He was a member of the Providence Pentecostal Church.

A man of many interests, Daniel especially loved fishing and cherishing moments with his beloved recovery family with whom he shared deep bonds and mutual support. His commitment to his recovery journey was admired by all who knew him.

Daniel is survived by a loving family: his mother, Donna Feltner Hawse; father, Donnie Hawse; maternal grandmother, Viola Feltner; son, Lindon Hawse and Lindon's mother, Shelby Ferguson; sister, Corie Raleigh (Dewayne); best friend, Tyler Deaton; niece, Gracie Minix (Damon); nephew, Lucas Raleigh (Chloe) and a host of aunts, uncles and recovery family members who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 starting at 11:00 AM at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, KY with the funeral service scheduled for 1:00 PM the same day with John Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in the Raleigh Cemetery at Bethany, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

William Gilbert, age 58, of Irvine, Kentucky departed this earthly life Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1966 in Estill County to the late Woodrow and Jessie Stamper Gilbert. William cherished his family and was known for his kind and caring nature.

William was a dedicated warehouse worker who found joy in working on old cars, drawing, listening to music, woodworking and exploring different places through traveling. He was a devoted caregiver to his beloved wife, Kathy and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and their five cherished dogs.

In his passing, William is reunited with his parents along with his late brother, Tony Newton; his late sisters-in-law, Linda Stokley, Kay Childers and Helen Gilbert and his late brother-in-law, Terry Wayne Stamper.

William is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathy Stamper Gilbert who was his rock and partner in life. He is also survived by his special niece, Sheila Hardy, special great nieces, Sienna Hardy and Brienna Hardy and special nephew, Blake Hardy. William is also survived by his brother, Woodrow Darrell Gilbert; his sister, Melanie Gilbert Miller (Dan); his brother-in-law, Hiram Stamper (Virginia); his sisters-in laws, Sandy Newton, Tina Stamper, Brenda Plowman (Jerry), Edna Stamper (Weldon), Pam Childers (Ricky), Alma Salley (George); special aunt, Matt Horn; several nephews, nieces and cousins all loved by him dearly.

Visitation for William will begin Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Calvary Baptist Church on Glory Street in Irvine, Kentucky from 4:00 - 9:00PM with the funeral service being held Saturday, November 1, at 12:00 PM with Sam Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the West Bend Cemetery at Clay City with David Hardy, Blake Hardy, Stevie Plowman, Charles Campbell, Jonathan Plowman and Richard Childers serving as pallbearers. Jerry Plowman and Weldon Stamper will serve as honorary pallbearers.

William Gilbert will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will forever be cherished and remembered. May he rest in peace.

Rodney Robert George, age 76, passed away on September 22, 2025, in Hazard, Kentucky. Born on December 19, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Robert and Rosemary George.

Rodney retired as a marketing specialist and was known for his vibrant personality and unique outlook on life. A devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, he also enjoyed the Second Life Virtual Online Metaverse, where he entertained many as a D.J. His love for music was wide-ranging, spanning blues, jazz, and rock ’n’ roll.

He is survived by his son, Travis George, and his wife, Rebecca McInnis George; grandson, A.J. McInnis and his wife Brenna McInnis and great-granddaughter, Brynlee McInnis, who was born shortly after his passing on October 17, 2025. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy George and Sharon Gunther; his special friend, Brenda S. Salyers; and his beloved dog, Rylee, a Chorkie mix.

Interment of ashes will take place at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 3440 S. Washington Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48601.

Tim "Tiny" Roberts, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, peacefully left this world on October 23, 2025 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, just shy of his 67th birthday. He was surrounded by the love of his family who will surely miss his infectious laughter and larger-than-life personality.

Born on October 28, 1958 in Jackson, KY, Tim was a graduate of Breathitt High School. He was a truckdriver who enjoyed spending time outdoors and time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Johnson Roberts; his son, TC Roberts; his grandson, Braxton Miller; his brother, David Roberts and his sister, Ruth Stacy.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rena Wise Roberts; his sons, Joe Roberts (Brittany) and Shane Hale; his daughters, Amanda Johnson (Bobby Sturgill), Melissa Roberts (Weasel Adams) and Karen Gambrel (Jeffrey); his brothers, Joe Ray Roberts, Danny Roberts (Carol) and Green Roberts; his sister, Becky Roberts; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pamela Gail Moyers, age 70, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Campton, Kentucky. Born on September 4, 1955, in the same town she called home throughout her life, Pamela’s journey was one of devotion to family, hard work and a spirited love for the simple joys that made life meaningful.

A high school graduate, Pamela built a life rooted in dedication and perseverance. She spent 25 years working at Dixie Freeze where her presence became a familiar and cherished part of the community. Later in life, she channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into owning and operating Unlimited Liquidators where her energy and determination left a lasting impression.

Pamela’s heart belonged to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 13 years, William “Tex” Moyers; her son, Robbie Brewer (Shelia); her daughter, Susan White (Randy). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Daniel White, Michelle Brewer, and Lauren White—and great-grandchildren—Aidan White, Kayci Brewer, and Adam White—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind three sisters: Judy Meeker, Donna Mason, and Sandy Byrd.

Pamela was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Watkins; her parents, Lee and Vernie Roberts; and her brother, Randy Roberts.

Pamela was known as a “little woman with big ways,” a phrase that perfectly captured the strength of her spirit and the warmth of her heart. Her world revolved around time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether restoring furniture or remodeling spaces with care and creativity, tending to flowers in bloom or nurturing rows of tomato plants in the garden—Pamela found beauty in every corner of life.

Visitation will begin Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home with funeral service to be held Sunday, October 19, with Adam Hays officiating at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jesse Turner, 79, of Talbert, Kentucky entered eternal rest at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee on October 8, 2025. Born on April 4, 1946 in Talbert, Kentucky he lived a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to his family and community.

A proud graduate of high school and a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era, Rev. Turner carried his sense of duty and compassion into every aspect of his life. After his military service, he became a self-employed store owner. Yet it was clear to all who knew him that his true calling was preaching the Word of God and serving others. His ministry was not confined to the pulpit—it extended into homes, hospitals, and hearts throughout the region.

Rev. Turner dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel and offering comfort to those in need. Whether visiting the sick or lending a helping hand to someone struggling, he embodied the spirit of Christian service with humility and grace.

He was a member of the Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church.

He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jo Ann Cornett Turner until her passing. Together they built a loving family grounded in faith and mutual respect.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Craig Turner (Melissa), daughter, Tracy Hukill (Mike), grandchildren, Alexis Turner, Jacob Turner, Devin Hukill and Kaylin Hukill; brothers, Talbert Turner, Sammie Turner and Bobby Turner; and sister, Ruth Deaton.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Jo Ann Cornett Turner; parents, Wilson and Ellen Herald Turner and brother, Johnny Turner.

Outside of his ministry work, Rev. Turner enjoyed fishing and watching sports. But above all else, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren—moments filled with laughter, stories, and love.

Nicholas Clark Caudill, 46, passed away on October 9, 2025, in Jackson, Kentucky at the Kentucky River Medical Center. Born on February 16, 1979 in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clark Caudill. Nicholas was a lifelong Kentuckian whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A high school graduate, Nicholas was known among his family and friends as a gentle giant—a nickname that reflected both his stature and his kind-hearted nature. He had a deep love for collecting Hot Wheels and trading cards, hobbies that brought him joy and connected him with others who shared his interests. More than anything, Nicholas cherished time spent with his family. He especially enjoyed hanging out with his nephew Isaiah, with whom he shared a close bond.

Nicholas is lovingly remembered by his mother, Joyce Caudill; his brother, Wesley Caudill; his nephew, Isaiah Caudill; and his nieces, Starr Caudill and Karina Caudill. He also held a special place in the hearts of his aunts—Kay Gross, Donna Lawson, and Barbara Barnett—along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Mary Montgomery Holbrook, age 79 of Rousseau, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

Born on February 7, 1946 on a farm in Fritz, Kentucky, Mary was the daughter of the late Kennie and Ressie Back Montgomery. After graduating high school, she pursued Business studies at Mayo Vocational School laying the foundation for a dedicated career. Mary worked for many years as a payroll clerk for Falcon Coal Company and Arch Mineral Corporation where her strong work ethic and commitment were evident in everything she did.

Mary was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in tending to her flower beds - especially her beloved irises - and was a gifted seamstress creating curtains, pillows and clothing with care and creativity. She loved creating things with her hands be it woodworking or crafting and each piece reflected her warmth and creativity. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and celebration where she lovingly prepared meals for family and friends. Her Chicken and Dumplings were legendary and she always made sure everyone's favorite dish was on the table.

Later in life Mary's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment with them and embraced her role as grandmother with love and devotion.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Adrian Montgomery and Glenn Wood Montgomery.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carl J. Holbrook; her son, Erik Holbrook (Amy); her daughter, Adriann Edwards (Brent); her stepson, Jason Holbrook; her treasured grandchildren, Levi Holbrook, Camden Edwards, Lilly Edwards and Luke Holbrook. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Alice Arnett and Lila Gibbs.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to take place on Friday, October 10, at 1:00 PM with Carl McIntosh officiating. A high school graduate, she found happiness in spending time with her loved ones. She had a special fondness for watching wrestling and looked forward to going to TR—activities that brought her joy and relaxation.

Rose is lovingly remembered by her daughters; Christy Mullins and Tonya Thorpe; her grandchildren; Erica Collins, Benjamin Thorpe, Krista Thorpe, Sarah Mullins and Hunter Mullins and her great-grandchildren; Kristalynn, Gavyn, Hadyn and McKenna. Paul Christopher Turner, age 57 of Turners Creek departed this earthly life on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

He was born on July 5, 1968 at the St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Chris was a retired shipping clerk at a steel mill in Wilder, Kentucky. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving parents, Paul and Mae Jett Raleigh Turner; his wife, Mary Noble; his sons, Paul Robert Turner and Christopher Garfield Turner; his daughter, Brooke Isabella Turner; his brothers, Henry Wade Turner and Brian Scott Turner (Allie); and his sister, Amanda Turner (Dean).

He was preceded in death by his son, Zachary Carson Turner; his paternal grandparents, Rev. Henry and Jennie Turner; and his maternal grandparents, Garfield and Amanda Raleigh.

Chris was a devoted member of the Shoulderblade Old Regular Baptist Church.

Franklin H. “Rusty” Allen, 63, of Beattyville, Kentucky, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Marcum & Wallace Hospital in Irvine, Kentucky.
Rusty was born on July 29, 1962, in Ary, Kentucky, to the late Reverend Hiram Allen and Louvernie Hensley Allen Kazee. He grew up in Breathitt County and attended Caney Creek Mennonite Church.
Later in life, Rusty made his home in Beattyville, where he found joy in serving others through volunteering at the Cornerstone Mission. He also enjoyed sewing, reading the Bible, and his time with TR, a therapeutic community. Known for his kind and gentle spirit, Rusty brought joy to many, especially when playing Santa Claus for children at Christmastime.
Rusty is survived by his son, Timothy Allen and wife Kim; brothers, Darryl Allen (Vestie), Phillip Allen (Marlene), Jimmy Tincher (Krystal), and Larry “Brody” Allen; sister, Patty Carmack (Jeffrey); and grandchildren, Kyle Allen, Bentley Allen, and Payton Allen. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Hiram Allen and Louvernie Hensley Allen Kazee, as well as his stepfather, Charlie Kazee.

Born to the late Sam and Missouri Ann Noble, Melissa was a homemaker and enjoyed swimming, fishing, riding four-wheelers, going to yard sales; but above all else, Melissa treasured time with her family.

She was survived by her husband, Doug Combs; her son, Aaron Combs; her daughter, Breanna Combs; her brothers, Christopher Noble and Brian Noble.
