Our field trip today was an extension of our “Farm Unit”. Farmers market provides a way for children to learn more about where food comes from. Today my students were able to use their five senses and answer open ended questions that they were asked. It’s important to provide virtual, and hands on activities and trips so our children can see things in a whole new light. Our goal is to to continue to make moments into memories. The early years are so vital to the development of the young child.

Today we celebrate Child Health Day. It was started by Congress as a day to raise awareness about the fundamental necessity for programs to protect and develop the young child. Be sure to keep current your child’s 121 compliance form, and upcoming shots that may be needed. These are all requirements needed for your child to attend different learning academies, and other educational programs.

This is how cooperative learning looks in our classroom. Cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences. I gave each child a partner to work with. I was able to utilize the students that mastered the activity to become a peer leader to assist others with any difficulties.

Mr. Sweet Potato and friends came to our class today.

They all wanted a makeover, because they were tired of looking the same.

When we first met them they were really hard.

Once they left the “Heating Spa” they were nice and soft .

We had brown sugar and marshmallows to make them yummy.

Now we all have happy Tummies.

Who knows what our next CREATIVE adventure will be.

Time will tell ; just wait and see!

Naming shapes is a skill that takes a little longer to develop. Most children reach about two years of age before they can grasp the concept. Like all developmental stages, this mark is fluid. Generally, by three years of age, a child should be able to identify some basic shapes. In addition , my goal is for my students to know all their shapes and the number of sizes before entering kindergarten. I plan to achieve this goal by daily practice, and by assigning interactive homework assignments. Around June; my plan is to introduce geometric shapes as a soft introduction.

This morning our class did assessments in various of ways. Early childhood assessment is critical in identifying a child's strengths and areas that require additional support. By identifying these areas early on… I can assist my students to gain strength and become more confident in themselves. It’s important to know that assessments aren’t always paper and pencil. We have a learning hall that we walk daily to review past and upcoming lessons. It’s exciting for my class because they get to converse with each other while learning. It’s a must to make learning an adventure .

Our class is learning how to take turns, share, and work together through play—and, particularly, their interactions with others. They also learn how to practice compassion and empathy. When kids play doctor, for example, they practice being kind. They also learn how to help others. Pretend play is a great way for your child to develop socially and emotionally. We are also learning new words and about the different tools doctors used.
