Applications are being accepted for the 2019-20 class of Leadership Jackson Hole.
The program meets monthly from September to May, classes focus on personal leadership skill development, understanding community issues, resources and diversity. The February session will take place in Cheyenne and will focus on the Wyoming State Legislature and State Government.
Leadership Jackson Hole is open to emerging and established leaders who wish to increase their skills, knowledge and participation in the community. Participants engage in activities with local groups that represent education, government, healthcare and non-profit organizations via monthly community based-experiences.

The brochure and application are available on line at: http://wyoextension.org/tetoncounty/community-development-education/

The class is limited to 25, and tuition is $400. Attendance is required at the first session Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, August 16. Applications can be submitted to the Teton County extension office in Jackson, 255 W. Deloney or emailed to Mary Martin at mmmartin@uwyo.edu

These past few months have afforded me an opportunity to experience leadership from a unique angle. Today's leadership blog from Dan Rockwell identifies three things that top leaders do:
1. Maker self-improvement a priority- "If you can't name something you're working to improve, you're on the decline"
2. Bring their best selves to work - "Leadership is about who you are before its about what your do"
3. Practice self-care - " Take care of yourself if you want a fulfilling career with expanding impact and usefulness:

I would add "Effectively Listen" to the list. People will remember how you made them feel before they recall what you said.
