🧠 Your mind matters—just as much as your body.

We schedule checkups for our physical health. We prioritize screenings for sexual health.
But mental health deserves that same attention—regular, proactive, and without hesitation.

💡 Why it matters:
Mental health conditions like Depression and Anxiety disorder are common—and treatable.
Early check-ins can help you catch changes before they become overwhelming.

⏱️ Make it part of your routine:
• Annual physicals ✔️
• STI/sexual health screenings ✔️
• Mental health check-ins ✔️

🌿 Take time to:
Rest. Reset. Recharge.
Whether it’s therapy, talking to a provider, or simply checking in with yourself—small steps add up.

💬 Don’t wait for a crisis to take care of your mental health.
Preventive care isn’t just physical—it’s emotional and psychological too.

✨ Prioritize all aspects of your health. You deserve comprehensive care. For more information about how to address your mental health questions and needs, call Open Arms Healthcare Center in Jackson at 601-500-7660 and in Hattiesburg at 601-582-0031.

Did you know? 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, making it one of the most common cancers affecting women today.

Regular screenings, including mammograms and self-exams, play a critical role in early detection. When breast cancer is found early, treatment is often more effective and outcomes are significantly improved.

Staying aware of changes in your body and keeping up with recommended screenings can make a life-saving difference.

Take time to prioritize your health this month. Speak with your primary healthcare provider about when to begin screenings and what steps you can take to stay proactive about your breast health.

🧠 Check in with yourself. It matters.

Mental health isn’t just about feeling “okay”—it’s about how you think, feel, and function every day. Changes can be subtle, but they’re important to notice.

🚩 Pay attention to signs like:
• Ongoing mood changes (feeling low, irritable, or anxious)
• Loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy
• Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope
• Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much

📊 Here’s what the data shows:
• Around 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition each year (per National Institute of Mental Health)
• Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health conditions worldwide (per World Health Organization)
• Half of mental health conditions begin by the mid-teens, making early awareness critical

💬 What helps?
Mental health conditions are treatable. Support can include:
• Therapy (like cognitive behavioral therapy)
• Medication when appropriate
• Sleep, movement, and social connection
• Talking to someone you trust

✨ If something feels off, don’t ignore it.
Reaching out is a strong and practical step—not a last resort.

Did you know? About 43% of adults report symptoms of anxiety or depression, and many people experience these conditions without realizing how common they are.

Clinical depression is more than feeling sad — it is a mood disorder marked by a persistently low mood, loss of interest or pleasure, and changes in sleep, appetite, energy, concentration, or feelings of worthlessness that last at least two weeks.

Clinical anxiety involves more than occasional worry — it is ongoing fear or worry that is difficult to control and can affect daily life, sleep, concentration, and physical health.

Mental health matters, and support is available. Checking in early can make a real difference.
