A few weeks ago, we asked Carly* on an exit survey if her time at Birth Choice was helpful. She marked “yes” and said, “This was the most information I needed.”
That is quite a change from when she first walked into Birth Choice! Let's backtrack to when she filled out her intake form. To answer why she was considering abortion, she wrote, "I’m not sure if I’m mentally prepared, I’m going to be alone and maybe I’m just a little scared I cannot financially provide enough."
The father of Carly's baby, who was pressuring her to have an abortion, cut off his relationship with her, so she had already begun to lean more toward parenting. Throughout the appointment, as they discussed life-affirming alternatives to abortion as well as the gospel, our advocate noticed that Carly was tearful and excited. By the end of their session, Carly chose life, and afterward saw her precious, second-trimester baby on ultrasound!
Sometimes our clients need to be empowered with knowledge, and more than that, have a safe space to ask questions and discuss the hard things they are going through. Thanks to supporters like YOU, our advocates and nurses are here, always ready to listen!
