The Mississippi Center for Rural Health and Population Studies at the Mississippi State Department of Health is currently planning the 2027 Statewide Primary Care Needs Assessment as part of our primary care cooperative agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration. This year's assessment will be used to identify communities with the greatest unmet health care needs, disparities in health outcomes, health workforce shortages, and barriers to health care access. Historically, this primary care needs assessment has been conducted every five years, with the most recent one completed in 2021.

As part of this process, MSDH is engaging key stakeholders to ensure diverse perspectives. Your input will be invaluable to ensure the assessment is comprehensive, relevant, and community-informed.
