We’re excited to announce our 2nd Annual Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Event featuring Cologuard—an alternative screening option for people who may otherwise go unscreened.

👉 Important note: This program is not meant to replace a colonoscopy, which remains the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening. Our goal is to offer another option to help increase screening and save lives.

📚 How it works:
To participate, you must attend a group education class at KCC on March 19th.
Two sessions are available:
🕛 12:00 PM
🕠 5:30 PM

📞 Appointments are required.
To schedule, please call 731-541-1742.

✅ Who qualifies?
• You must be 45 years or older
• You must be at average risk for colorectal cancer
Not sure if you meet the qualifications? Give us a call! We’re happy to help you figure it out.

🧠 Why CRC screening matters:
• Colorectal cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in adults
• It often has no symptoms in early stages
• When detected early, CRC is highly treatable and curable
• Screening can find cancer before symptoms start—or even prevent it altogether
If a colonoscopy feels like a barrier for you, this may be just the step that helps you get screened. 💙

Early detection saves lives—and screening is key.

Today is World Cancer Day and we asked some of our staff to share what they love about working in Oncology!

April Roberts, Clinical Records Specialist

“It is an honor and a privilege to be able to work in radiation oncology; to build relationships with our patients through seeing them for daily treatments, to pray with them, cry with them, hurt with them, and celebrate with them. No matter what the job is here at KCC, whether big or small, it ALL makes a difference in the life of a patient. The opportunity we have each day is to be sure that the impact we have is for their good, both to uplift and encourage.”

Today is World Cancer Day and we asked some of our staff to share what they love about working in Oncology!

"As a breast cancer survivor for the past 5 1/2 years, I consider it a blessing to be able to work for the Kirkland Cancer Center. I am able to relate to the fear of a cancer diagnosis my patients are receiving. However, I also can give them comfort and hope that this terrible disease can be treated, and you can come out on the other side stronger and with a story to tell." - Tina Dove

"I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor. Everyone I encountered during my treatment: the front desk workers, nurses, doctors, technicians, and literally every single person was so kind and friendly. It means so much to have people care about you and show you compassion during the hardest time of your life. I worked on the mother/baby floor for 19 years before I started working at The Kirkland Center. When it was time for a change, I knew exactly where I wanted to work. Every day I pray that God opens my eyes to see if a patient has a need I can help them with. I love seeing my patients and getting to know them. Working at The Kirkland Cancer Center is rewarding in so many ways. I pray I can be a blessing to my patients, but they bless me more than they know. " - Denise Hedge

"I am so thrilled to be working at Kirkland Cancer Center because not only do I feel that I am making a difference in people's lives but also because I am getting to work alongside some of the same people who took care of me while I was going through my own breast cancer journey. It is a blessing to be able to give back the love, care and kindness that was so freely offered to me. " - Heather Davis

Stephanie Fiddler, RN, Infusion

"What I love about working in oncology is being able to care for patients in such a difficult time like so many others cared for my mother while she was a patient here. Getting to walk alongside them and relate to them in some way has been so rewarding for me. "
