Mental health clinicians, stop sending it to the P*P. 🛑
You are often the most qualified professional to address your clients’ leave needs. Therapists are often asked to complete FMLA or Short-Term Disability paperwork… but rarely taught ‘how’ to do it well. This workshop changes that.

📅 Friday May 8th | 12–2 PM EST

This workshop provides mental health professionals with a clear, practical understanding of how to ethically and effectively support clients seeking Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short-Term Disability (STD) related to mental health conditions. Participants will learn how to assess clinical severity, functional impairment, and treatment needs to determine when intermittent or continuous leave may be clinically appropriate.
Drawing on the presenter’s background as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Human Resources expertise, this course demystifies medical leave documentation, clarifies the therapist’s role in the process, and addresses common pitfalls that delay or jeopardize approvals. Through clinical examples and documentation guidance, therapists will gain confidence completing forms within scope of practice and collaborating appropriately with employers and third-party administrators.
Participants will leave this workshop with a strong understanding of FMLA/STD during mental health treatment, clinical language, and ethical guardrails to support clients’ medical leave needs, reducing confusion and helping clients maintain economic stability while managing their mental health condition.

Educational only. Not legal or employer decision-making advice. Practice within your professional scope and applicable laws.

Two Trainings Every Therapist Needs This Spring 🌷

If your clients are navigating workplace accommodations or medical leave, you are part of that process—whether you feel ready or not. Jen Wilburn, LMHC-QS, CIC is offering two focused 2-hour trainings designed to give clinicians the clinical confidence and practical tools to support clients through ADA accommodations and FMLA/Short-Term Disability requests. Drawing from her dual background as a mental health clinician and HR professional specializing in ADA compliance and accessibility, Jen bridges the gap between clinical care and employer decision-making in a way most therapists never get exposure to. Open to all Mental Health Professionals, including medical providers.

Reasonable Accommodations & Mental Health: A Clinical Guide on Friday, April 17th covers how to assess functional impairment, translate symptoms into workplace-relevant language, and complete accommodation documentation clearly and within scope—with templates and case examples that reduce the errors that lead to denials.

Leave is Treatment: FMLA & STD in Mental Health Care on Friday, May 8th walks you through evaluating clinical severity, determining when leave is appropriate, and completing medical leave forms with confidence while avoiding the common pitfalls that delay or jeopardize approvals.

Both trainings run 12:00–2:00 PM EST.
Investment: $65 per 2-hour workshop.

Hey mental health professionals, this one’s for you. 👇
Therapists, counselors, social workers, interns, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners: if your clients have ever asked you to complete workplace accommodation documentation and you’ve thought… where do I even begin? We’ve got you.

Reasonable Accommodations & Mental Health: A Clinical Guide
Friday, April 17th | 12:00–2:00 PM EST

Presenter Jen Wilburn, LMHC-QS, CIC brings a rare combination to this training — she’s both a licensed mental health counselor AND an HR professional specializing in ADA compliance. That means she gets both sides of the coin.

In just 2 hours, you’ll walk away knowing how to:

-Assess functional impairment and put it into writing
-Complete accommodation documentation clearly and ethically.
-Support your clients through the process with confidence. -Stay firmly within your clinical scope.
-Templates, case examples, and practical tools included.

🥁Announcing a two-part virtual training series for licensed therapists (and registered interns!), each offered at an introductory rate of $65 per workshop while CEU approval is pending.
Part One: Reasonable Accommodations & Mental Health: A Clinical Guide will be held Friday, April 17th from 12:00–2:00PM EST, and focuses on equipping clinicians to confidently support clients seeking workplace accommodations under the ADA. Participants will learn how to assess functional impairment, translate mental health symptoms into job-relevant language, and complete documentation ethically within scope of practice.
Part Two: FMLA & Short-Term Disability for Mental Health Providers will be held Friday, May 8th from 12:00–2:00PM EST, and provides clear, practical guidance on supporting clients requesting intermittent or continuous leave under FMLA and STD.

Across both workshops, I draw from my dual background as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and HR professional specializing in Accessibility and ADA compliance to bridge the gap between clinical care and employer processes. Through templates, case examples, and real-world documentation strategies, therapists will gain the tools, clinical language, and practical guidance needed to advocate effectively while remaining grounded in their professional role. Welcome to take one or both training workshops!

When two of your favorite insta-famous pediatricians .tommymartin and .phoebe casually appear on the sidewalk outside your counseling office like a crossover episode you didn’t know you needed. “Hope is not a lottery ticket you can sit on the sofa and clutch, feeling lucky.
It is an axe you break down doors with in an emergency.” — Rebecca Solnit

Hope isn’t passive. It’s active, courageous, and within your power.
In therapy, we don’t wait for things to change—we work together to build the tools, insight, and resilience that help you move forward, even when it feels hard.

Hope can be practiced. And sometimes, it starts with taking the first step. 🤍

✨ Hi, I’m Jen! ✨

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Intrinsic Life Coach. For the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people in their healing journeys here in the Jacksonville beaches area.

I help people navigate many of life’s challenges, including:
⚓️ New mamas adjusting postpartum and through motherhood’s many stressors
⚓️ Anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and people-pleasing (learning to value your voice, set the boundaries of your dreams, and release guilt)
⚓️ Healing after breakups or divorce
⚓️ Grief and loss in all its forms
⚓️ Career stress, burnout, and professional growth
⚓️ Couples counseling—deepening connection, improving communication, and leveling the mental load of family life
⚓️ Healing from church hurt and spiritual abuse
⚓️ Recovery after trauma, including childhood traumas.
… and so many of the other hard, messy, and beautiful parts of being human.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve also had the honor of guiding Fortune 200 companies in their journeys toward Disability Inclusion—helping dismantle ableism and create workplaces where people with diverse disabilities, mental health conditions, and neurodiversity are supported, valued, pursued, and elevated.

At the heart of it all, I believe healing begins when we feel seen, valued, and safe to embrace our full selves—without apology. 🤍
