“Mindful walking invites us to reconnect with our bodies and the ground beneath our feet. This practice isn't just about movement; it's about bringing our full attention to each step we take. As we walk, we are reminded to slow down, breathe deeply, and become present in the moment. This intentional awareness can transform our daily walks into a moving meditation, calming our minds and soothing our spirits.

The benefits of mindful walking extend beyond the physical. When we walk with awareness, we cultivate a sense of inner peace and clarity. This practice helps to quiet the mental chatter and stress that often cloud our minds. By focusing on the rhythm of our steps and the breath in our lungs, we create a space for mental tranquility and emotional balance. Over time, this simple practice can lead to greater mindfulness in other areas of our lives, helping us to respond to rather than react to life's challenges.

Anahata is associated with the element air. Air disperses and integrates spiritual understanding of love, compassion, and connection to everything you encounter.

Air, like love, is within and all around us. We can embody this element by keeping our heart center open and our love free-flowing.

It’s Spring meaning new growth and new beginnings. What better time to cleanse our energetic body. This week we start with opening and cleansing our root chakra, muladhara. Your root chakra is at the base of your pelvic floor, and is our foundation and connection to the Earth. It connects to our basic human instinct for survival, security and stability.

Signs of imbalance: Anxiety, fear, scattered energy - feeling disorganized, lacking in focus or discipline. Fatigue, addiction, greed, insecurity, lacking sense of identity.

A poem I shared today in class. This week theme is welcoming new beginnings with an open heart. I truly loved guiding my students in a grounding New Year practice yesterday and today. The highlight of my day is when I meet my students on the mat. It brings me so much joy and light in my life.
