Nineteen years of stories, courage, and community came together in one unforgettable night.
�This final A Night for Heroes Gala was a celebration of the people who make UF Health Jacksonville what it is: our patients who inspire us, our staff who care with unwavering heart, and the supporters who continue to believe in this mission.

We honored a committee that has poured nearly two decades of dedication into bringing this event to life year after year. Presenting them with a plaque to mark their legacy was one of the most meaningful moments of the evening. It will stand as a quiet reminder of the love, time, and passion they invested into this gala.

Together, we raised over $400,000 to strengthen the work that touches lives every day. None of this would be possible without the patients, staff, and supporters who make this mission shine.

Meet Chris Hemmen, our inspiring 2019 Patient Honoree.

From a devastating accident to a double thumbs-up, Chris Hemmen’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. After suffering a severe traumatic brain injury in 2017, Chris fought through 21 days in the ICU and weeks of rehab — supported by the dedicated team at UF Health and an incredible community. Just 54 days after his accident, he walked out of rehab smiling. His story continues to inspire us all.

Last week, we kicked off the countdown to the final A Night for Heroes by lighting our hospital blue—a symbol of gratitude, hope, and recognition for the healthcare heroes who make a difference every day. 💙

We were honored to hear from Chris Hemmen, a past patient honoree, and his mom Pam Hemmen, who shared their powerful story of resilience and the extraordinary care that touched their family.
