September is Fall Prevention Month 🍂

We know that every step matters, because protecting our residents’ safety and independence is our top priority.

✅ Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults, but many are preventable with the right precautions; at home and in care settings.

We’re proud to say that we go above and beyond to keep our environment fall-risk aware and prevention-focused:

🏥 Our facilities are designed with fall prevention in mind, including:
Non-slip flooring
Handrails in hallways and bathrooms
Adequate lighting throughout
Prompt response systems

And most importantly, our staff are specially trained in fall prevention strategies—monitoring mobility, assisting safely, and tailoring care plans to reduce risk for every individual. 👩‍⚕️

Whether you're at home or in our care, here are 3 simple fall prevention tips to stay safe:

1️⃣ Clear the Path – Remove clutter, loose rugs, and electrical cords.
2️⃣ Light It Up – Ensure good lighting in every room, especially at night.
3️⃣ Grab Support – Install grab bars and use mobility aids when needed.

What a thrilling day it was at the GFS kitchen! Our talented chefs went head-to-head, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity in the ultimate cooking competition! 🍳👨‍🍳

A huge congratulations to the winner of the Top Chef of Florida competition - Solaris Healthcare Waterman!!! Solaris Healthcare Waterman's team brought their A-game and took home the top spot! We're beyond impressed by their dedication, passion, and culinary expertise! 🏆

A massive thank you to everyone who participated, judged, and supported this incredible event! Your hard work and enthusiasm made it an unforgettable experience for all. 🙌
