Wow!! This is what life is about! I used to be so terrified of failure, so much so that it was paralyzing. Within the last month after such a long time of letting fear of failure control me I am here to say “I change my mind”.

I came to this conclusion after reading the quote a above. I will no longer be available for fear of failure because I realized that NOT doing something and risking failure, I would be selling my self short, and that terrified me more!

I mean isn’t it much scarier to let it paralyze me? What am I really risking? Some of us will spend our whole lives not taking a chance because we are afraid to fail at it...but I believe what would be an even bigger shame is not doing something about my biggest dreams because of my inner dialogue that is so negative in thought.

So from this day forward I will thrive on failures or even the possibility of them...because I’m those moments I can honestly say to my self “hey at least I tried”.

Mental health is one of the most critical parts of everyone’s health. With people opening the conversation and beginning the normalization of mental health, it is still a concept many ignore.

Did you know that mental health can produce physical symptoms that often gain a diagnosis that the patient may not actually have?!?!

Yes!!! Instead of treating the true root of the problem many slap a bandaid on it with medication for a diagnosis that simply doesn’t exist!!!

However if we focused on the “whole” person and not a separation of mental and physical health, a better outcome would be gained.

Our agency was created from many years spent working in healthcare. From many hours, day and years of watching a healthcare system be transformed into something I found difficult to work for and continue to believe in. I wanted to more. Something better that I was proud of. Something that when I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror I could truly know I made a difference. In my own way with my own rules because the rules I was playing by no longer served it’s purpose for me or my patients. After ten plus years as an RN working for major Health systems left me burn out. A once eager student and then nurse, I could no longer sit back and ignore what my patients were all telling me. I saw a health system treating people like a number factory, instead of an individual. Over and over the message from my patients kept getting louder. This inner voice saying something has to change. People before numbers! Isn’t that why I became a nurse? Wasn’t positive patient outcomes the name of our game? I went into this profession with those great intentions, so how come with every year of growth and learning it became clear that just sitting back and being part of the problem would never change that system. Taking a back seat and letting some one else drive was no longer an option. I could not work for companies that did not support my belief system. I tried talking myself out of it for a while. Telling my self that the opportunities presented to me were amazing and I should be happy! So what was my hesitation!?! My inner voice would not let me go... it would not let me rest...people around me were telling me the same...I had to go with my gut and my heart. I had to try. With intentions like these is failure even possible?
