Here’s what recent research is showing ⬇️

A 2021 study found a strong relationship between ADHD symptoms and food sensitivities. For many kids, certain grains, like oats, wheat, and other gluten-containing foods… were making things worse.

The wild part? After just 4 weeks of following a guided elimination diet, about 60% of patients showed significant improvements in ADHD symptoms🤯

That’s not small.
That’s not coincidence.
That’s the power of food and biology at work.

🚩 Some of the biggest clues that food sensitivities may be at play include:
* Behavior changes after eating certain foods
* Gut issues like malabsorption or enzyme deficiencies
* Chronic symptoms that don’t respond well to standard care

Remember, ADHD is never just in the brain. The gut and the nervous system are deeply connected, and for some, removing inflammatory foods can create massive shifts in focus, mood, and overall well-being.

Progesterone is metabolized into a compound called allopregnanolone, which interacts with the brain’s GABA system (our main calming neurotransmitter).

In women without PMDD, allopregnanolone has a soothing effect, supporting relaxation and sleep.

Most ADHD folks aren’t the “scattered dreamers” stereotype👇

They’re the hyper-focused overachievers, the ones who push harder, stay later, and say yes to everything— because they’ve spent a lifetime trying to hide the chaos.

The to-do lists, the sticky notes, the late nights… it’s not ambition alone, it’s survival. It’s masking. It’s keeping up appearances so the world doesn’t see how much effort it takes just to hold it all together.

Burning out doesn’t make you “lazy” or “inconsistent.” It makes you human. And it’s a sign your ADHD isn’t being supported at the root level.

When we look deeper (blood sugar, nutrient status, hormones, gut-brain axis) we stop blaming ourselves and start understanding the why behind the burnout.
