Today, we pause to honor Founders Day, marking the moment in June 1935 when Bill W. met Dr. Bob—and Alcoholics Anonymous was born. Their shared commitment to helping others laid the foundation for a movement that continues to transform lives around the world.

As someone working in the recovery and treatment field, I see every day how that legacy lives on: in the strength of those who seek help, in the compassion of those who guide them, and in the quiet courage of choosing healing—one day at a time.

AA reminds us that real recovery is possible, and it often begins with connection. Founders Day is not just about looking back—it’s about recommitting ourselves to the values that make recovery possible: honesty, service, and hope.
