A urinary tract infection (UTI) can be painful, uncomfortable, and sometimes serious if left untreated. UTIs occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract, commonly affecting the bladder, urethra, or kidneys. Women are more prone due to a shorter urethra, but men can develop UTIs as well.
