Think about how we all live in a place where storms are inevitable. We’re able to remain calm, prepare for the worst and wait for the storm to pass so we can get back to work. If we can do that for weather storms, we can definitely do it in the storms of life. Be safe.

Sometimes in order to have effective communication, you have to be able to meet people where they are at. Remember, the communication cannot be considered effective if the message was not delivered.

Today, while waiting for the car drop off line to move, my son began to say “omg, just go, hurry up and move”. While my small rants about bad drivers didn’t seem to impact the other driver, I realized my son is seeing how to respond and I didn’t like seeing him so bothered. Sometimes it’s the people watching us that motivate change. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Intimacy isn’t just for romantic relationships. Those inside jokes and non verbal communication cues you share is what makes that friendship just as integral to your life as much as a romantic partner. Appreciate and value those relationships.

Even when relationships don’t end on your terms, your acceptance and accountability of the situation is needed to properly move on. In the end, making your peace with the situation is really all the closure you need.

In today’s society, it’s really easy to feel like your value is directly connected to how much you are compensated. Some of the most important jobs to humanity do not necessarily yield those benefits but that doesn’t take away from the value you bring. Riches aren’t always material.
