What began in 1946 as a small home for Jewish seniors has grown into an award-winning campus welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds, guided by a mission that has remained constant through the decades.

There are many interesting stories among our staff that often pass by without notice, but today, please join us in celebrating with Wendy Davidson - our valued Administrative Assistant for the Plant Operations team - as she prepares to celebrate with her son, Staff Sergeant (SSG) Tanner Hagerty, who is being recognized as the recipient of the 2026 TAPS Military Mentor Award. TAPS is the national 'Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors': Imagine someone teaching a young boy to shave in the absence of a father or someone celebrating milestones in the absence of a fallen parent. The honor recognizes a service member whose dedication, heart and service to grieving families - especially children - has been exceptional. Consistent with River Garden values, we thank you, Wendy, for raising such a thoughtful, compassionate and purpose-driven young man. What a good feeling to know that your heart for service has been contagious!

Wendy will be traveling to Washington DC to accept the award with Tanner on March 17th at the 2026 TAPS Honor Guard Gala. Safe travels!

Our 80th Anniversary Day is just two weeks away, and Carol & Betty are already busy preparing for the Auxiliary Vintage Sale! The display case is loaded with treasures and early birds can start shopping on March 20.

p.s. Tombola is also an Auxiliary fundraiser and tickets are now available online, or you can buy them in-person at River Garden on Tuesdays, March 10 and March 17.

Caregivers give so much of themselves every day. Support groups at River Garden are a place to pause, share experiences and find understanding among others who truly know the journey.

These gatherings offer space for conversation, listening and encouragement. Participants connect with peers, gain perspective and leave feeling supported, not alone.

If you are gearing up for THE PLAYERS Championship next week (March 12-15), here's how you can add some fun & support River Garden! Birdies for Charity is a fundraising platform for nonprofits based in Northeast Florida, including River Garden. You can make a contribution that will allow you to guess the number of birdies that will be made during the competitive rounds of tournament. The last day to guess is March 11!

The individual who guesses closest to the total number of birdies without going over will have the chance to win a grand prize of $10,000!!!

River Garden receives 100% of every pledge collected, as well as funding from a bonus pool provided by THE PLAYERS.

We are always grateful when The Berman Family JCA Concert Series makes a stop at River Garden. This performer, Kiron Atom Telllian, is soon to graduate from The Juilliard School. He shared his artistry, answered questions from the audience and spent quality time with residents. Thank you Heather Terrill (JCA) and Kiron for providing a nice start to the week!

We loved a visit from the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School today! Middle schoolers delivered hamantaschen to members of The Coves . It is almost Purim! Shabbat shalom, everyone!
