We are transitioning to a different location but will be reopening on August 22 using the clubhouse at Pecan Park RV Resort as our new Nook home!!! We will also be offering online classes, private classes, and workshops!

❤️ In a world and time that stress, pain, and grief is everywhere at an unprecedented level, I’d invite you to give yourself permission to break from the adult mode of doing, embrace your free to be child self, and remember how to balance stress from the inside out.

❤️ Reconnect with your inner child by practicing play in various ways. We’ll begin in the salt room in anti gravity chairs with conversation around what keeps us distant from our inner child and a meditation to reconnect to our child. We will then shift into the foyer where we will engage in playfulness to remember through techniques like laughter yoga, dance, and other activities.

In-person workshop Jacksonville! Are you experiencing pain, anxiety, fear, grief, sadness, physical frustrations, nervousness in your life? It seems that all of us are experiencing this in some kind of way. However, pain of any kind often keeps our emotional light dimmed, our heart hidden and creates disconnection between ourselves and others. Join Charity for this workshop where she will share insight into grief/grieving and offer an all-accessible Grief Yoga® practice with the intention of creating a safe space for you to move through whatever it is you need to in the moment. The practice is all-accessible (can be done in a chair or on a yoga mat) and no prior yoga experience is needed!

The all-accessible, gentle movement-based class uses breath, movement, & sound and your grief as the fuel to invite a compassionate transformation of the heaviness, pain, grief, sadness, and disconnection into energy of more connection, joy, peace, and love. It is in no way about trying to forget about a loved one or to push away pain. It is about feeling everything, getting curious, and then releasing yourself from the heaviness and burden of the pain to feel light again.

Join me virtually on New Years Eve from 11:00am-12:30pm EST as we flow and let go of 2024 and set our intentions and gain excitement for what’s to come in 2025. We will move mindfully and then practice yin/held poses to offer space to settle, rest, and set intentions. All levels and accessible to all! No yoga experience required!! We’d love for you to join us NEXT FRIDAY, January 3 from 6-8pm at the Event Center at Peeple’s for this power FULL, creative, and FUN workshop to set the stage for YOUR 2025! We will discuss what makes a vision board so powerful and talk about what it is not. We will then settle into deep listening to ourselves through a short gentle movement and breath work practice which is accessible to all, can be done in a chair, and there’s no prior yoga experience needed. The bulk of our time will be in play and creation of our vision boards from our intuition!!!!! I can’t even begin to express how FUN this evening will be and hope you can join us! Join me virtually tomorrow night for this restful and restorative meditation practice. No experience needed. Nothing special needed. Get comfortable, rest back, and listen. You can’t do it wrong. 🙏❤️🙏

Yoga Nidra is a powerful, non-movement meditation practice that has shown to help counteract the effects of trauma, PTSD, sleep disorders, anxiety, stress, depression, pain and so many more ailments. Our minds and bodies seem to be stuck in overdrive and in the doing and going. Yoga Nidra allows us to release the gas pedal and slow things down. The practice takes us into deep rest, often times referred to as “yogic sleep”.

You do not need a yoga mat or yoga clothes for this practice. Get as comfortable as you can, lay on a bed, couch, chair, yoga mat if you’d like, and rest your body and mind. Find ways to make yourself extra comfy with pillows, blankets, socks etc. Since it is a non-movement practice your body temp will drop and there is nothing worse than trying to meditate when you are cold! As the holiday season continues, there are often expectations: “I should”/“they should” conversations in our minds, imbalance, crossed boundaries and OVERWHELM! Hmmmm this all resonates deep with me...how about you??? For me, overwhelm feels like I am holding my breath and I am a juggler getting thrown more and more balls from all angles.

Yoga Nook Northside is a Veteran-owned, safe, in-home, student centered, creative space where you are encouraged to explore the power of yoga as it pertains uniquely to YOU. We offer beginner yoga, restorative yoga, meditation/mindfulness, prenatal yoga, trauma centered yoga, power and slow flow yoga and Warriors at Ease designed for military, first responders and their families.
