💥 Pregnancy Myth-Busting! 💥
There’s a LOT of misinformation out there when it comes to pregnancy, and it can leave you confused or stressed. Let’s set the record straight and debunk some common pregnancy myths!
🚫 Myth #1: “You’re eating for two!” 🍏 Truth: You don’t need to double your food intake during pregnancy! While you should eat a balanced, nutritious diet, your body only needs about 300 extra calories per day in the second and third trimesters.
🚫 Myth #2: “Carrying high means you're having a girl.” 👶 Truth: The way you carry your baby has more to do with your body type and muscle tone than the baby’s gender. Gender is determined by genetics, not your belly shape!
🚫 Myth #3: “Pregnancy is nine months, always.” 📅 Truth: Pregnancy typically lasts around 40 weeks (about 9 months), but it can vary! Some pregnancies are shorter or longer, and full-term can be anywhere between 37 to 42 weeks.
🚫 Myth #4: “Exercise during pregnancy is dangerous.” 🏃♀️ Truth: Unless your doctor says otherwise, exercise is actually great for most pregnant people! Activities like walking, swimming, and prenatal yoga help with circulation, strength, and mood.
🚫 Myth #5: “You can’t have a safe, natural birth after a C-section.” 💪 Truth: Many people have successful vaginal births after C-sections (VBAC), but it depends on your health, previous birth history, and your provider’s guidance. It’s important to discuss your options with your healthcare team!
🚫 Myth #6: “You need to avoid all stress, all the time.” 🧘♀️ Truth: While managing stress is important, you don’t need to be perfectly relaxed 24/7. It’s normal to have some stress during pregnancy, but focusing on self-care and finding support can help you manage it.
Pregnancy is full of surprises, but you can trust your body and your healthcare provider to guide you on this journey. Don’t let myths stress you out—get the facts, and feel empowered! 🌿✨
