Anxiety is incredibly convincing.

It tells you that the answer is to figure it out, calm it down, avoid the feeling, get certainty, or wait until you feel “ready.” But recovery often asks us to do the exact opposite.

Instead of chasing certainty, we practice allowing uncertainty.
Instead of escaping discomfort, we learn to stay present with it.
Instead of pushing thoughts away, we practice letting them exist without scrambling to fix them.

That’s the shift.

And honestly? It can feel deeply uncomfortable at first. But this is the work that slowly gives you your life back. Not because fear disappears overnight, but because fear stops being the thing that makes all your decisions.

In this week’s podcast episode, I sat down with the incredible Reid Wilson to talk about willingness, uncertainty, panic, OCD, and why recovery is less about eliminating anxiety and more about changing your relationship with it. It was such a powerful conversation. ❤️

Taking care of your mind is not weakness, it’s wisdom. We don’t question going to a doctor when our body is hurting… so why hesitate when our heart feels heavy or our thoughts feel overwhelming? God cares about your whole being... your mind, your emotions, your spirit. Sometimes that rest looks like prayer. Sometimes it looks like talking to someone who can help you process what you’re carrying. Both can be part of healing.

If you’ve been struggling quietly, this is your reminder: it’s okay to reach out. You’re not alone. And if you need a quiet place to begin, we’ve created devotionals, worship playlists, and guided moments with God to help you slow down and find peace. Find peace with God—link in bio
