On Saturday, April 25th, from 10am to 2pm, we are partnering with the Jacksonville Police Department to be one of two drop-off locations for their Medicine Drop Community Event.

We will be
💉 Collecting Sharps
❤️ Offering Hands-Only CPR
🚑 And partnering with Onslow EMS for Narcan Training

By dropping off unwanted or expired medications, we can all do our part to keep one another safe and healthy.

Early detection is key! It often eliminates the need for additional surgeries, chemotherapy, or radiation, while easing the financial and emotional burden on patients and their families.

🩷 April is National Rosacea Awareness Month! 🩷

Heat can be a trigger for Rosacea, while sweating can lead to acne for others! Here are some treatment plans that could apply to you:

🧴 For mild flushing, apply a cream or gel that can constrict blood vessels and help alleviate flares!
💊 For severe blemishes, your doctor might prescribe an oral antibiotic or acne medication!
👁️If you have Ocular Rosacea, eye drops or oral medication can help reduce inflammation and provide comfort!
😎 To prevent rosacea flares, identify your triggers and make necessary adjustments! For example, if heat is a trigger, take frequent breaks from the sun, drink plenty of water, and apply sunscreen multiple times throughout the day.

Our Cardiac Rehab is a physician-prescribed, medically supervised program designed to help patients improve cardiovascular health. Cardiac Rehabilitation doesn't just consist of exercising; it also helps our patients learn how to take control of their lives through lifestyle choices and habits that positively affect heart health. Our patients will learn about controllable and uncontrollable risk factors and ways to lower their risk, while receiving physician-prescribed exercise, nutrition, and more.

On Wednesday, April 1, at 10:08 a.m., Onslow Memorial Hospital proudly participated in the HonorBridge Pause to Give Life flag-raising ceremony and moment of silence. This special event honors organ, tissue, and eye donors and their families, while raising awareness about the life-saving impact of donation.

Each donor has the power to save 8 lives, and with over 3,000 patients in North Carolina waiting for a transplant, the need is greater than ever.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in this meaningful tribute as we celebrate hope, remembrance, and the incredible gift of life 💙
