Jenn, Stroke Nurse Coordinator, was commended by a peer for her exemplary dedication in facilitating a patient's insurance request. The patient required a written document to fulfill an insurance company's inquiry regarding a recent hospital visit. Jenn promptly met with the patient and their family to discuss how she could provide the necessary assistance, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and perseverance. Her efforts ultimately secured the required information for the patient and their insurance company. This is another great example of how our effective collaboration is key to providing quality care!

Onslow Memorial Hospital (OMH) is taking another step toward more compassionate, patient-centered care with the introduction of the Vecta Budii Sensory Cart in its Emergency Department (ED). Designed to support patients with mental and behavioral health needs, the sensory cart helps create a calmer, more therapeutic environment during what can often be a stressful, overstimulating experience.

Qualifications:
✅ BLS upon hire
✅ Current North Carolina CNA I or CNA II certification
✅ NCI within 90 days
✅ Patient Safety companion course within two weeks of hire and yearly CBL certification
✅ CNA I will attend CNA I +4 within 6 months of hire

Leigh Ann, an RN in our Labor and Delivery Department, was recognized by a patient’s mom for her ability to coach, guide, and support her daughter during the labor and delivery process. The mom shared that Leigh Ann’s actions made it clear to her that the patient and new baby were in safe hands.
