What started as just another way to exercise has turned into a life-long passion I am excited to share with others. I received my first yoga teaching certification in 2007 and began to teach yoga privately to friends, family and co-workers. Other than walking and swimming yoga has become my sole means of exercising. Through the years I have studied various forms of yoga and meditation. Let me shar

e my experience, which I believe, helps to make me a well rounded yoga teacher. I'm a RN with 19 years Operating Room experience....15 of those in CVOR ( Cardio-Vascular OR) at St. This year I transferred to Cardiac Rehab. I have three ISSA National Personal Training Certifications (Certified Fitness Trainer, Specialist in Exercise Therapy, and Youth Fitness Trainer). Formerly, I worked at the YMCA for four years and currently at St. Luke's Hospital as a personal trainer. I have several Yoga certifications from Academy of Holistic Fitness (New Ideas For Today's Yoga Class: Yoga for the Elderly, Office Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Faith-Based Yoga and Meditation), Enlighten Your Body (Yoga Sculpt and Pilates), Vinyasa Specialist, Yoga for Prevention of Low Back Pain and Practical Yoga for Personal Trainers). I currently teach Chair and Mat Bone Builders for osteoporosis, Yoga For Those Impacted With Cancer, Power Yoga, and Mommies in Motion at St. Luke's Hospital

I also had the privilege to study under one of world's best yoga teachers,Bryan Kest, in an In-Depth Teacher Training which included understanding of the multi-dynamic possibilities of yoga, working with issues and injuries, philosophy, Sanskrit, and meditation. I have also studied several styles of meditation including Bhakti (meditation of gratitude), Jnana (meditation of observation), Karma (meditation of compassion), Metta (meditation of loving/kindness) and Vipassana. Allow me to share all the knowledge I have gained and serve you with your yoga/meditation needs. Great afternoon at Samuel W Wolfson High School for Advanced Studies. Taught three classes during students lunch periods. They went to the cafeteria and brought lunch to football field.

Taught two Pranayama techniques:Nadi Shodana and Series of 10. Students felt very relaxed after both sessions.

Practiced yoga poses that help with relaxation. Finished up with Meditation for Anxiety. Gave these students ways they can relax better during mid terms. I love teaching yoga

Hey JAX friends and family. I have exciting news to share about Yoga Den Yellow Bluff. Beginning this Thursday at 11:00 we are offering a Bone Builder yoga class for those with Osteopenia/Osteoporosis. Yoga is contraindicated for this condition yet the isometric contraction used during yoga increases bone density. No deep forward bends, no side bends or twisting of the spine. If you know of anyone who has Osteopenia/Osteoporosis and miss their yoga please send them our way. First class is always FREE!

Yoga Voyager LLC has moved to Jacksonville, FL! Zooming some of my St. Luke's clients and got a job, as Susie, at Yoga Den Yellow Bluff located at 12400 Yellow Bluff Rd., Suite 202 JAX, FL 32228. I will be teaching a Tuesday 11:00 Power Yoga class and Friday 9:00 Body Sculpt Class and 11:00 Beginner's Yoga. Your first class is FREE at Yoga Den. If you are looking for a group setting this is a great place to visit. The studio is super cute. Staff is amazing. Love that studio floor.

As always if you are interested in a private Zoom or Zoom class feel free to PM. I will be returning to my Monthly Sunday emersion classes, in January 2022. We will practice Ashtanga, Power, Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa and Therapeutic yoga classes.

Yoga Voyager has been working hard this weekend thinking of the best way to teach yoga via Social Distancing. I have talked to Yoga Instructors around the world and got their input. I feel the best way to teach yoga is through Zoom. I have paid for the upgraded account so you can enjoy as long of a class as you would like. I can do private classes or events.

Yoga Voyager has a PayPal account. All classes are Donation Based whether Private or Event. Through Zoom I can have as many as 100 (all safe in their homes-how is that for Social Distancing? )

Who doesn't need a little yoga right now? If you are interested all you have to do is sign up for FREE on Zoom. Let me know what you would like and I will be happy to set up a meeting.

The Event "Enjoy the Benefits of Yin Yoga" on March 29 is still on with Zoom. If you are interested let me know. I will set that up.

Small Business Saturday. Beginning in December I am opening up our house one Sunday a month to teach a variety of classes: Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Yin, Eight Limbs of Yoga, Beginner's Yoga, Yoga Fusion and Therapeutic Yoga. There are many varieties for many levels and interests. On Sunday December 15, from 3:00-5:00 I will be teaching a two hour Ashtanga class (Intermediate Level). Class will begin with the six warm up series, Sun A, Sun B, Primary Series, three finishing postures and a long healing Savasana at the end. Events/Group classes are typically $10 an hour but for the December class it will be donation based. If you are interested or have any questions please PM. Space is limited. Aging gracefully......As we age we begin to lose three things: our natural range of motion/flexibility, balance and the grey matter back in the cerebellum. A daily yoga & meditation practice helps to prevent these losses. While you practice yoga you breathe deeply in and out of the nose.This in itself is important for many reasons but for today's post it adds extra oxygen in the blood which changes the pH making our circulation more alkaline. In yoga the poses open up the muscle and connective tissue allowing all that oxygen/alkaline circulation to heal these areas. Many poses in yoga require balance. The standing leg activates the intrinsic muscle fibers. There is no machine at the gym that can activate them more than balance. Lastly a recent study was done that had the participants aged from their 20's to 90's. They all had a FMRI. The results were when we get into our mid 30's we begin to lose gray matter in the cerebellum. The group that meditated every day for eight weeks did another FMRI. It showed not only did they increase the gray matter in the cerebellum but the frontal cerebral cortex and hippo campus. Yoga Voyager can help you get on track to practice daily yoga and meditation.
