We spent a beautiful day surrounded by rows of blooming lavender at Kingfisher Lavender Farm!

The visit was filled with good company, beautiful views, and a chance to learn something new. The Phillips family made us feel right at home while showing us how lavender can be used in everything from drinks to desserts. There were a few new ideas picked up that we might just have to try again soon.

Outings like this are a reminder that adventure doesn’t have to be far from home. Sometimes it’s right in our own community, just waiting to be enjoyed.

There’s something special about a day in the garden, especially when it’s shared.

We loved welcoming Kids Korner back for another visit, and this time we got our hands a little dirty together. Between planting, laughing, and swapping stories, it didn’t take long for friendships to bloom right alongside the garden beds.

Moments like these bring so much joy to our residents. There’s an easy connection that forms across generations, and it’s something we truly cherish every time these kids walk through our doors.

Spaghetti, laughter, and a seat that always belongs to Shirley.

Our latest dinner night out at Old Spaghetti Factory was filled with everything we love about these outings… full tables, shared desserts, and plenty of stories being passed around. And of course, Shirley right in the middle of it all, just like always.

As one of our most loyal dinner companions, she’s been part of so many of these nights that it only felt right to turn this one into a little celebration of her. While we’ll miss seeing her at the table, we love knowing she will continue her adventures with her family in Texas.

Here’s to good meals, great company, and the memories we carry with us.

Some friendships feel like they’ve always been there. That’s exactly how it feels with Shirley.

This week, we gathered to celebrate her as she heads off to Texas to be closer to family. Saying goodbye wasn’t easy, but the room was full of laughter, stories, and so much love. After all, Shirley isn’t just part of our community… she’s part of Jacksonville itself. It felt like half the town came to wish her well.

From everyday moments to incredible adventures, like the time she rode her bicycle across the country to raise money for hospice, Shirley has a way of bringing people together and leaving a lasting impression wherever she goes.

We’ll miss her dearly, but we’re so excited for what’s ahead.

Mornings here are full of energy, and our Tai Chi sessions are a big reason why. Every other week, Dayton Mason joins us to lead a relaxing and refreshing class that residents truly look forward to.

Even on the off weeks, the routine continues with his videos, and the room is still full of movement, smiles, and focus. It’s become one of our most loved ways to start the day.
