Dear Patients
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Our office is back open to treat all your dental needs..
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 910-455-2151.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Dr Jones and Staff

To our patients,

As healthcare providers, we have the safety of our patients, family members, and team members as our number one priority. Based on recommendations from the CDC, NC Dental Board and with the stay at home order issued by Governor Roy Copper, I have decided to close the office for the month of April with the exception of seeing patients with dental emergencies.

If you, a family member or a friend experience a dental emergency, please call our office at 910-455-2151. According to the NC Dental Board, a dental emergency is defined as:

• Severe toothache pain (that has lasted more than 24 hours)
• New or recent swelling of your gums or face (within the past three to seven days)
• Tooth infection
• Recent trauma(a broken tooth causing pain)

As we have always done and continue to do, we follow specific sterilization and safety protocols after every single patient we care for in our practice. This includes steam and cold sterilization of all our non-disposable dental equipment, wiping and/or spraying down all surfaces after each patient use, disposable safety barriers, and providing many single use items that are discarded after every patient.

In addition to our normal cleaning routines in non-patient care areas, we are wiping down high traffic areas like play area, lobby, and restrooms with disinfectants approved by the CDC for Covid-19 and the flu. We continue to wash and disinfect our hands as always in addition to wearing our normal Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, masks, eye protection, lab coats, etc.).

If you have an appointment scheduled, we will be contacting you to cancel that appointment and reschedule for a later date. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at 910-455-2151. All phone calls will continue to be answered during this closure.

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time. It is our hope that you and your family stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Dr. Emmett Jones and staff

Coronavirus update:

Late yesterday afternoon we received an email from the NC State Dental Board strongly urging dental professionals to help combat the spread of this virus. Based on their recommendations, and in the best interest of our patients and team members, we will be closing our office starting tomorrow March 18 and will remain closed until at least March 30. We will continue to evaluate the progression of the virus and follow NC State Dental Board recommendations for the upcoming weeks.

All calls will be transferred to our office cell phone. If you experience a dental emergency please call our office and will be able to take care of you. Also you can call to schedule any future appointments. We will be scheduling for the month of April.

We appreciate your understanding during this time.

As healthcare providers, we have the safety of our patients, family members, and team members as our number one priority. We continue to monitor the evolving situation regarding COVID-19. We are working closely with our local health department, the CDC, as well as other providers in our community in order to determine best practices for operation over the next several weeks.

Our office will continue to operate on a normal schedule until further notice.

In addition to our normal cleaning routines in non-patient care areas, we are wiping down high traffic areas like play area, lobby, restrooms, etc. throughout the patient care day with disinfectants approved by the CDC for Covid-19 and the flu.

We continue to wash and disinfect our hands as always in addition to wearing our normal Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, masks, eye protection, lab coats, etc.).

We ask that if you are feeling under the weather or are immunocompromised due to an underlying chronic health condition, that your call our office to reschedule your appointment.

It is our hope that your and your family staff healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Dr Emmett Jones and staff
