💧 EmpowHer Wellness Tip: Staying Hydrated When It’s Cold
Message from one of our patients this week:
“Hi! I am wondering if you would maybe do a post on staying hydrated in the cold months. I’m struggling to keep my water intake up as it gets colder. I ask people what they do and no one really has an answer or they say tea or coffee. I don’t drink tea and I’m not going to drink coffee all day for hydration. I couldn’t imagine that! I thought maybe you could share some really good pointers for all of us out here starting the struggle to drink cold water when it’s cold.” 💬
Such a great question — and one so many of us can relate to!

“I love this question — you’re not alone! As the weather cools down, many of us naturally drink less water. But hydration is just as important in the colder months to support your immune system, skin, energy, and even mood.”
Here are a few easy ways to stay hydrated when cold water doesn’t sound appealing:
💧 Warm it up: Try sipping warm water with lemon, cucumber, or a splash of electrolyte mix instead of cold water.
🍵 Broth counts: Bone broth, veggie broth, or herbal infusions (even if you’re not a tea drinker!) all contribute to your hydration.
🍊 Eat your water: Hydrating foods like oranges, cucumbers, soups, and smoothies can make a big difference.
📱 Set gentle reminders: Keep a pretty water bottle at your desk or use an app reminder—it helps more than you think!
🌿 Add a boost: Electrolyte packets or a pinch of sea salt in warm water can help your body actually absorb hydration better.
Remember, hydration is about consistency — not perfection. Start small, sip often, and your body will thank you. 💗
