✨ Between contractions—>and DURING a contraction ✨

Labor is like a dance marathon. A new wave (or song to dance to) every few minutes to work hard breathing through and letting your muscles relax with a short break between to recoup. That time is often spent resting, refueling, and hopefully preparing to surrender to the next wave.

✨“Hiring a doula was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our first baby. As first-time parents planning an unmedicated birth, we didn’t know exactly what to expect — but Sarah made us feel confident, informed, and completely prepared. She supported both me and my husband so well, helping him feel involved and confident in how to support me. During labor, her calm, steady presence made all the difference! Because of her guidance and support, I was able to have the positive, unmedicated birth experience we prayed for. We are beyond grateful and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!”— Abigail

🤗Thank you for trusting us with your support needs and for sharing such sweet words about how our support positively impacted your birth experience!

Two little balloons, one big ‘let’s meet baby soon!’ 🎈👶

That’s a Cook catheter—a somewhat gentle, mechanical way to help your cervix open for labor when it’s time for an induction. Think of it as a nudge from your care team to get things moving more naturally, without medications that can increase risk for baby right away.

It’s usually a good option for those with a firm and thick cervix at the onset of induction. They usually stay in for up to 12 hours and you reassess at that point to see what the best next step in your induction process should be.

And here’s where a doula shines ✨
While tools like this do the medical work, a doula does the emotional, physical, and informational support—helping you stay calm, comfortable, and confident every step of the way. Insuring your questions are answered based on the evidence!

Because while induction can take a while(1-5 days), it doesn’t have to feel scary… it can feel supported, empowered, and even a little exciting if you’re prepared💕

Morning sickness can feel so overwhelming, mama 🤍 You’re growing a whole little life, and your body is working overtime. If you’re struggling with nausea, here are a few gentle remedies that many moms-to-be find comforting:

🌿 Ginger root tea – Warm, soothing, and natural. Sip slowly in the morning or whenever nausea hits.
💛 B vitamins – Especially B6, which can help calm the tummy (always check with your provider first).
🌸 Essential oils – A little peppermint or lemon oil on a cotton ball to inhale can feel so refreshing.
🍽️ Frequent small meals – Keeping your stomach from getting too empty can really ease the waves of nausea. Crackers, fruit, or nuts can help.
🤲 Pressure points – Gentle pressure on the inside of your wrist (like with acupressure bands) may bring relief.

You’re not alone in this. Be patient with your body, rest when you can, and remember—this season won’t last forever. You are strong, you are doing amazing, and your baby already feels your love 💕

Save this post for later or share with a mama who might need a little extra support today 🤍✨

🥳It’s been a WEEK of BIRTHdays over here with 5 babies born since Sunday and there’s a 6th in labor currently! There have been all natural births, planned and non-planned inductions and vaginal births, an unplanned labor to cesarean birth and a planned repeat cesarean birth! Some started with waves, some with sudden water breaking and some with induction mechanisms. Some were fast and some took days (as inductions do).

✨ This right here is why we love what we do—TOGETHER!! Because sometimes babies come when you least expect it and it’s all hands on deck! Sometimes your doula WILL be too tired if it goes long and backup is called in to help you finish your birth out like the BOSS you are mama! And at times, plans need to change because of no fault of your own and we need to pivot (insert Ross screaming “PIVOT!!!!”)— 🛋️

—THIS is why you hire us as an agency! 💃

You can trust that no matter where or when— Doulas of Jacksonville is there to cover your back, and your front, and tell them “oh she said no to that check—she’s going to give birth instead” 🤪

We CAN do this BECAUSE we have a team of professionals in the wings—ready to serve you!

-No extra fees because your solo doulas backup charges more than your doula does
-No wondering if that inexperienced backup doula would truly treat you the same as your doula would
-No lack of doula because the backup she had decided she just didn’t feel like going 👀

🛟 Just a team of women who are educated on what you need to know, and deeply care about how you feel while bringing life into this world. ☎️ Hit the follow to learn more about childbirth!

These are more than open slots on a calendar.
They’re moments where a family will be forever changed.

Our 2026 birth doula support openings are now available for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, and behind each space is a promise:
You won’t do this alone.

From the quiet anticipation of early labor,
to the intensity of birth,
to the first breath, the first cry, the first time you hold your baby—
we are there to help protect your space, support your choices, and remind you of your strength when it matters most.

Birth deserves time, presence, and deep support.
That’s why we intentionally limit how many families we serve each year—so every mother feels seen, heard, and fully supported. Having your chosen doula by your side every step of the way.

If you’re pregnant and dreaming of a birth that feels:
✨ Calm and supported
✨ Family-centered and respectful
✨ Grounded in trust, not fear

We would be honored to walk this journey with you.

Our 2026 availability is limited, and these spaces fill quickly.

🤍 Serving families through one of the most important periods in their life.

💫 We never expect a gift as your doula—but that doesn’t mean we don’t LOVE feeling appreciated 🥹 It’s notes like this one that keep us going after 14 years of being up all night and on-call—for you.

Thank you for seeing me, among your hazy postpartum days at that!

You’re not just preparing to give birth…
You’re preparing to become a mother.

In a world full of noise, fear-based stories, and rushed appointments, it’s easy to feel like birth is something that happens to you—instead of something you’re an active, powerful part of.

But what if you felt calm instead of scared?
Informed instead of overwhelmed?
Supported instead of alone?

Our childbirth education class is for the moms who want more than “just get through it.”
It’s for couples who want a positive, family-centered birth, where your voice matters, your choices are respected, and your partner knows how to truly support you.

Inside this class, you’ll learn:
✨ How your body was designed for birth
✨ Tools to cope through labor with confidence
✨ How to advocate for your preferences
✨ How to create a birth experience rooted in trust, connection, and support

Because birth isn’t just a medical event.
It’s a life-changing moment your family will carry forever.

You deserve to walk into your birth feeling prepared, supported, and deeply confident.

💛 If you’re ready to learn, connect, and prepare for a birth you can look back on with peace, this class is for you.
