I know, I know, we’ve all seen the trope in the movies and tv shows... a woman giving birth while laying on her back. There are some occasions that it would be best to use that position, but the fact is, that there are several ways you can labor and give birth that are MUCH more beneficial to mom and baby. Creating more room for the pelvis to expand, and better oxygen flow to baby being among them.

As doulas we want to empower our clients to know the options available to them so they can make the best choice for themselves.

😍Want connection during pregnancy?! This is how you do it. Build your village with friends who are in the exact same boat as you. Our Preparing for Birth childbirth education class last night was THE spot to be to make new parent-friends! This was just half of the crew that hung around to talk after class and this is the kind of connection we want you to have through this journey. Pregnancy can be a lonely experience. But you should never feel alone, and having support from those who know how you feel makes the world of difference!

Lean into the sensations
Lean info surrender

It only brings more power, empowerment as a mother and love than you’ve ever known. Don’t fight it. Whatever the plan…Surrender.

✨Real talk from the birth room✨
This mama’s beautiful belly tells a story — not just of labor, but of the unexpected curveballs that can come with it. She had an allergic reaction to the gel used with the baby’s heart rate monitor during labor. 💔➡️💪

It’s a reminder that birth isn’t always picture-perfect — sometimes our bodies respond in ways we don’t plan for. As expecting moms, it helps to know:
💡 Ask what products are being used on your skin.
💡 Speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
💡 Remember that your comfort matters, too.
✅And if this happens… ask for hydrocortisone cream 😉

Motherhood is full of surprises — some tough, some tender — and all of them remind us of the strength carried in every stretch, scar, and mark. 💕
