Dr. David Niemeyer specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatment and participates in the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center partnership as a specialist in cancer of the pancreas, liver, and bile ducts. Dr. Niemeyer is board certified in general surgery and completed fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery at Carolinas Medical Center. When Dr. Niemeyer is not in the operating room, he enjoys spending time with family and woodworking. We are so lucky to have Dr. Niemeyer as part of the North Florida Surgeons -- Baptist Jacksonville Division.

He specializes in bariatric surgery with advanced training in robotic, laparoscopic, and complex hernia surgery. When he’s not in surgery, you’ll find Dr. Hodgett on the golf course or at the stadium cheering on the Jags.

Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid in the gallbladder and are very common. Patients with gallbladder problems may have upper abdominal pain and nausea. If gallstones are causing problems, we can perform hepatobiliary surgery to remove them. Be sure to consult with your doctor if you are experiencing symptoms.
