A little before and after and a cool story. I've been building "stuff" for a very long time. In the early days,I was fortunate enough to work for and with some of the most talented people in the business and their shops had amazing tools. I dreamed of having my own amazing tools but financially it wasn't an option..until one day. We were going to Birmingham to spend Thanksgiving with my Dad and his wife Kate. During our visit,my Dad asked me to come down to the basement with him. He had bought a table saw,compound miter saw,routers etc to do the renovation on their kitchen. My response was these are"amazing tools". His response "I want you to take these back home with you,I know you will put them to good use". What? That day changed my life. The saw in the picture was purchased about 8 years ago for the sign shop I was working at. 8 years later, he bought a new saw and this one wasn't being used and fell victim to the elements and was in really bad shape. They offered it to me. I brought it home, completely dismantled it and brought it back to life. As nice as it turned out,I have no need for 2 table saws in my shop,so it was my turn to help someone else who had an interest in woodworking that wanted their own "amazing tools". Last weekend, I delivered the saw to my daughter in law Mariana Cruz. Her and my son Andrew Le Munyon are renovating their new house and I hear they've already put some miles on the saw. I hope they build many beautiful and useful creations for their home. Time to make some sawdust!

I was asked if I could fix 2 teak benches that someone tried to clean with bleach..what?
You know when your mouth says things before your brain can proofread? I do that a lot. Anyway these are before and after.

So. I will be temporarily shutting down the shop for renovations,maintenance and upgrades on my machines. It's long overdue and much needed. I'm looking forward to cranking back up November 1st. If you have something you want built,you can still reach out to me and get on the list. In the meantime, here are a couple pictures of some small builds I recently completed.

I really need to remember to take before pictures when I do restoration work. I was commissioned to restore a dining room table top. The customers neighbor attempted to restore it and did a horrible job,it was really bad. It took me over 30 hours to remove the old finish and return it to raw natural oak. 2 heavy coats of red oak stain and 6 coats of satin polyurethane, wet sanding between coats, it's a brand new table again. I think it turned out great and the customer was beyond happy.

A few finished projects. First set of pictures are of a lighted address shadow box. Next set is a benchtop I made for Radiant family Chiropractic to match their reception desk I built. Last set are of a kitchen island renovation I just finished.

Working on a build and decided to pull this cherished relic off the wall. This yard stick has many miles and a ton of sentimental value. Just holding it made me smile. This where it all started. I've had this since the 80s as a very young sign man.

Another furniture delivery day. An old friend, Terry Parker alum and LEO hero ordered this table with hidden and locked gun storage. It think it turned out great and I'm pretty sure he liked it too.

Our grandson Layton is really into monster trucks and he has quite the collection. He's been wanting a ramp..so papa built him a ramp. I think he digs it.

I've been busy and haven't posted in a while. I just delivered this entertainment console. I think it turned out pretty good. More importantly, they loved it and that makes me happy.

Ok. Back to the grind. The day before we left for our getaway, I finished this special project for 2 retiring Marines. Thank you so much for your service. Once a Marine,always a Marine.
