Today, we witnessed pure courage in motion — a legally blind, single mother of FIVE taking her very first steps in her brand-new prosthesis.

It was a day overflowing with joy, tears, and pride — not just for her, but for the beautiful children cheering her on. ❤️ Slowly but surely, she’s reclaiming her everyday lifestyle, one determined step at a time.

This is why we do what we do. These are the moments that fuel our mission and remind us what it’s truly all about.

Watch out world… she’s on her way back, and nothing can stop her now.

Joey Stevens has been an integral part of Bremer for the past seven years- comforting, supporting, and educating patients as well as establishing relationships with doctors all around NE Florida. Today we sent him off into retirement. We will miss his wittiness. Thankfully he’s not just an employee, but also a patient and friend. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!

Meet Mr. Walker! 🎉 For his 71st birthday, he received a brand new custom lightweight KAFO from us at Bremer O&P. Back in 1953, as an infant, Mr. Walker was diagnosed with Polio, and the small tan device in the picture was his very first brace. Times have certainly changed in the world of bracing over the past 71 years!

Scoliosis treatment has come a long way since the 1970s!

Back in the day, TLSOs were often bulky, uncomfortable, and not always tailored to individual needs. Patients faced challenges with mobility and, at times, the aesthetic impact on their daily lives. (As you can see, the TLSO went all the way from their chin to pelvis!! 😥)

Fast forward to the present, and TLSOs have undergone a remarkable transformation! With advancements in technology and a focus on patient comfort, modern TLSOs are sleeker, more customized, and designed to provide effective support without compromising on mobility or aesthetics.

Special thanks to our patients grandmother who donated her original Bremer scoliosis brace for display in our lobby!
