🕉️ Tapas: The Inner Fire of Discipline 🔥
In yoga, Tapas is one of the Niyamas from the Eight Limbs of Yoga. The word comes from the Sanskrit root “tap”, meaning “to burn.” But what are we burning? Our resistance, our laziness, our ego, our habits that no longer serve us.
✨ Tapas is the heat of transformation—the discipline, passion, and effort that fuel personal growth. Whether it’s waking up early to practice, holding a pose a little longer, or committing to inner honesty, Tapas is about choosing the discomfort of growth over the comfort of stagnation.
🧘♀️ Practicing Tapas doesn’t mean forcing or punishing yourself. It means showing up with intention, even when it’s hard. It means trusting that the fire you build today is forging a stronger, more mindful version of you.
🔥 Let your practice be your fire. Let your fire transform you.
