Love Your Locks - Even in Winter
I don’t know about you, but in the winter my hair starts to look like I slept near an electric socket. If flyaways and dryness are getting you down you want to start from the inside out as you build up your moisture.
To start with, increase your hydration. Whatever you’re drinking, add more!
If you aren’t taking an omega oil supplement, now is the time to do so. We really like either Flax oil as it doesn’t have the fishy aftertaste and of course fish oils which are high in both Omegas 3 and 6. Try them for a few weeks and you’ll notice the difference in your hair and skin.
Give yourself a rub-down. Once a week before you shower, give your head a scalp massage with a little bit of coconut oil. This will help soothe the scalp and open the cuticle so that when you wash your hair you’re getting down to the root.
Yet on that note, stop washing! If you wash your hair too much you’ll strip your hair of its necessary moisture. Also if you’re a color-addict, try to skip the salon in the winter (at least for highlights, which tend to be more drying), and instead opt for a glossing treatment.
