Please join us in welcoming Dr. Colin Murphy to Southeast Orthopedic Specialists!

Dr. Murphy is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. A Jacksonville native, he brings extensive experience working with professional, collegiate, and high school athletes, including serving as a team physician for Clay County high schools and the US Ski and Snowboard Team.

Dr. Murphy completed his fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado, and has authored more than 50 publications in orthopedic research, including receiving the 2020 Jack Hughston Award for outstanding work published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is committed to providing patient-centered care to help individuals recover from injuries and return to the activities they love.

Dr. Burns is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery and orthopedic trauma. He completed advanced fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the University of Kentucky and spine surgery through the Harvard Combined Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

With expertise in complex spine surgery and high-level trauma care, Dr. Burns is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for his patients while continuing to advance education and surgical excellence.

At Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, we celebrate the incredible contributions of our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). APPs include Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), highly trained healthcare professionals who work alongside orthopedic surgeons to deliver exceptional care.

Our APPs play a vital role in patient care, from performing detailed evaluations and diagnosing conditions to creating treatment plans, managing follow-ups, and educating patients about their health. Physician Spotlight Series: Jennifer Madden, MD

Dr. Jennifer Madden is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in Hand & Microvascular Surgery and Upper Extremity Reconstruction. She completed fellowships at the Mayo Clinic and Brown University, with extensive training in trauma and hand surgery. Dr. Madden has contributed to orthopedic research, especially in total wrist arthroplasty and elbow arthroscopy, and has presented her work at major conferences, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Madden is cheering on the Red Sox, spending time with her husband, and keeping up with her five amazing kids. Her two oldest attend FSU and UGA.

Her love for family, sports, and community shines through in everything she does. We’re proud to have her on the SOS team.
